This whole thing ticks me off. There are multiple big time recruits who have us in their top 3 teams. Landing 2 or 3 of them gives us a real shot next year and years afterward. Why the heck would anyone leave a program when you are at the cusp of landing on the top and you have a shot at signing a top 3 recruiting class!

ND is always up there in the recruiting rankings and usually no where to be found in the final season rankings on the field. Recruiting is all hype. All the truly great players stay in the south.

Hopefully, we can keep a top 10 this year....

He's lost a Champs, BCS, & Fiesta.
We went to 3 BCS (major bowl) games in the 10 years prior to his arrival (30%).
We've been to 2 major bowls including an NC shot in his 6 years. (33%)

I get your point cgvr. You brought facts. But statistics don't tell the whole story. The Irish were very close to making the playoffs this year. They had the talent and quite a bit of depth to withstand all the injuries. They are having another great recruiting class this year so they will have even more depth in 16 (Just have to reload with all the players going pro like Bama.

Stats don't tell the whole story. Notre Dame went to Stanford (who might finish at #5) without many key starters and still about beat them in a epic battle. Coach Shaw who is a very tough guy was crying on the sidelines when they made that field goal. The Irish are getting stronger and should compete for the playoffs again in 16. And I am not making excuses Stanford won fair and square but they were probably extremely happy to get the W at home.
