Where’s Angeli?

Why is he not playing?
Because the coaches have determined that he’s not as good as Pyne.

Why else would he be a backup ?

Unless of course you think that the coaches don‘t want to play their best players in an attempt to win games.

And a coach has never been wrong before.....

Didnt Lloyd Carr start Drew Henson over Tom Brady....

Yeah coaches never make mistakes

Hard to envision a scenario where Angeli playing any of the last 3 weeks could be worse than Pynes performance

Truth be told this offense is tailor made for bringing a young QB along. 50+ runs and under 20 passes a game

It’s not that Angeli is worse let se but he likely prone to mistakes and turnovers and risky but he needs to play. Him not playing is more a result of Rees laying eggs against Marshall, Stanford, etc where we should’ve been up by 40 in the 3rd Q and then you get him reps. He found to be very raw when he finally gets to throw a pass

I kind of doubt Angeli would be an upgrade over Pyne, not that I think Pyne is very good. A good Blue-Gold game does not mean he's a great QB. I wish we had that freshman Clemson trotted out last week to come back against Syracuse, and I wouldn't mind having Del Rio Wilson, the kid Syracuse inexplicably had on the bench until the second half.

Brady was a late bloomer, but I keep on forgetting that you know so much more than all of these coaches who are with the players every day !

Coaches coach and message board experts bitch from grandmas basement. Great win today!

Nope.

But coaches make mistakes. All the time. No coach has ever been perfect

Brady’s NFL draft number was 199, Hansen’s was 192.

As I stated, Brady was a late bloomer.

How does your coaching record compare to Lloyd Carr’s

You need a bootleg VHS copy of the 1998 UM@ND game. Without gravity Brady couldn't have hit the ground.

Tells me 31 teams made a mistake. How did that work out for the team that picked Henson?? Good decision or no?

And Brady started his last 2 years but Carr kept pulling him due to Hensons potential and upside. He admitted later on it was a mistake and may have cost him a chance at a NC. At least he can admit his mistakes

Comparatively speaking, armchair fans with no on site day to day information and experience make exponentially more mistakes and are rarely right when they differ with the coaches.

That would be you !

At least you admit they do make mistakes. Finally. Good job

Coaches make decisions based upon the significant amount of Data at their disposal.

You make decisions absent any data at your disposal.

So you tell us, who is the more credible source, the coaches or you ?

Second guessing is easy, second guessing without sufficient data is reckless and rarely correct

Coaches of course.

Doesn't mean they don't make mistakes all the time.

It's okay. You already admitted coaches can be wrong. Move on

I’m pretty sure he can hand the ball of for 260 yards like DP. He can probably throw 55% which would be better.

Whether he is better than Pune is not the point. The point is Pyne needs the bench n Angeli needs a shot. Doubt he would be worse

The most popular player on this board is always ND's backup QB. It just strikes me that Angeli, like Pyne, is one of those guys who you like to have on your team, but not as your starter.

Last I checked we won and our QB still stinks
I see you failed to mention the dropped passes yesterday and every game so far. Pyne surely isn't a huge talent, but it's not like every mistake is his alone.

Styles did not have a drop. Merriweather did not have a drop.

I dont remember one by Mayer. What Mayer one are you talking about
I don't recall the exact play where Styles dropped it, but Mayer on the one that went tipped off his hand and was intercepted and Merriweather where he had a sure TD on a post pattern. As a 6-5 guy against a 6-0 DB you have to high point the ball and make a play.

I wouldn't call the Mayer INT a drop. A less athletic TE simply lets it sail over his head. It was all he could do to get fingers on the ball.

There are zero excuses for him. Bounced pass off ground. Overthrows. High throws. Not leading receivers. Not finding open receivers. Not recognizing coverages. Not feeling a 270 pound lineman about to crush him and you want to say a couple of dropped balls should factor in? Maybe his receivers are shocked when the ball is in their area code. No excuses but you get my point.

The Merriweather play was definitely not a drop. Maybe you can say he should have gave a better effort but def not a drop. Styles did not have any drops

I dont remember the Mayer one being a drop. I'll have to see it because I dont think it was
