What’s going to make winning

I think our biggest issue and problem next season will be our D line. We are just too small at DT to dominate the line of scrimmage against top competition. Jmo.

The schedule. There are a lack of powerhouse teams but also a lack of cupcakes.

I’m not worried about Ash as DC and think he will be just fine.

So you think we might lose some games to these non-powerhouse/non-cupcake opponents, like Miami or Arkansas? Or even Boise St. It's possible.

I'm definitely worried about replacing Golden. Nothing really against Chris Ash as such, he looks qualified enough as far as it goes. But that's a high bar to match.

I’m a big believer in that, basically any time you line up against a Power 4 team, you have a very legitimate chance of losing. ND plays 10 Power 4 teams, Boise State who is basically a P4 team, and Navy which has a unique scheme and always concerns me to some degree.

No FCS teams or even mid to lower level G5 teams like Western Michigan (mid) or Kent State (lower).

I view Freeman as the driving force behind the defense. It should be plug and play (coach) at DC for the most part.
