I'm told that Notre Dame's coaching staff will be on the recruiting trail starting Thursday for the evaluation period that runs through May 31. The Irish staff will be able to stop by schools to get a better sense for targets in prospects in various classes. We'll bring back our Trail Tracks series to monitor where Notre Dame's staff is visiting.
The NCAA definition of the evaluation period is "a period of time when it is permissible for authorized athletics department staff members to be involved in off-campus activities designed to assess the academic qualifications and playing ability of prospective student-athletes. No in-person, off-campus recruiting contacts shall be made with the prospective student-athlete during an evaluation period."
