Quarterback room

You want to make a bet on your ridiculous statement or were you just running your mouth??
You said in your post you didn't understand the statement. Now you want to bet against it. Wait, be patient until they guys at IB explain it to you someday. Then you can make bets or whatever you need to do. But get your story straight.

I didn't say I didn't understand

Well, you get in enough arguments with other posters, I'm not joining in.

It's a message board, for posting opinions and ideas about ND football. I'm gonna continue to enjoy the free exchange of ideas of different posters. I'll let you set your own agenda and approved narratives.

We're all ND fans, so go ND.

Hartman will ascend soon. He’s learning new system and receivers. There will be a boom in ascension. This is good for Hartman. Tyler is getting a legit opp and had grown. Hartman starts.

He didn’t exactly say that. I believe what he said was that Pyne outplayed Hartman vs “ some” acc teams. Hyde added that Hartman only completed 70% of his passes twice in last two years and didn’t play particularly well vs better acc teams. Hyde has said many times he thinks the acc is a shit conference and he’s not wrong about that
See but this is why Hyde is horrible.

1. Hartman played in an aggressive downfield passing attack. That equals a lot of incompletions.
2. Pyne threw very conservative one read balls to the outside or to Michael mayer underneath.

Comparing the two even with common opponents is bunk. Hartman had weaker oline and rbs and guys new he'd be throwing. Pyne played against man coverage almost exclusively.

The comparison is just a stupid one. Crap like this gets them clicks...but is silly

And remember, he did not have a "stellar" OL around him as well. You cannot compare Pyne to Hartman -- they played in 2 different offensive styles -- Hartman played in an attacking, downfield style, where Pyne was in a more conservative offense. Pyne had a better RB situation around him, while Hartman had better receivers than Pyne (stripping out Mayer).

VS Clemson last fall -- Hartman was 20-29 for 336 and 6 TD's (no INT's and Lost) -- Pyne was 9-17 for 85 yards and a TD (1 rushing and throwing) and Won -- without knowing who won, who would you have said played better against a common opponent?

I’m not supporting his theory , just quote him correctly

The all time ACC leader should not be struggling. Buchner should not be struggling. Both are coaching issues.
I was expecting this from the "Sammie Heisman" poster. 😂 If Hartman struggles it's going to be the coaches fault. I've got news for you. Outside of Clemson the ACC is a garbage football conference..If Hartman was as good as you think he is, he should have declared for the NFL draft, but instead he opted for a 6th year! Ian Book didn't opt for a 6th year. I consider Book better than Hartman just on that alone. You need to temper your expectations of Hartman, he's not a Heisman candidate, and Buchner has more upside and talent than Hartman.

Overall the QB room is solid, ND have two above average QB's who will push each other which they haven't had in a long time.

With the upgrades on offense, and a very talented defense, this team has playoff potential.

Buchner looked good in practice last year too. He struggles in games and is wildly hit or miss with accuracy. Don’t sleep on Minchey pushing for starting time next fall. While I don’t expect CJ to start as a TF, he’s going to make Buchner look less talented with the throws he will make when he gets to campus. The last camp he was throwing 40 yard no look cross body darts without even setting his feet that were on the money. He’s a taller combination of arm, legs, and accuracy than Buchner ever will be. Buchner has the legs but seems to lack the big arm and interpersonal skills of a top 5 Heisman level QB. CJ and to a perhaps somewhat lesser degree, IDK actually, Minchey, bring that. I like Buchner personally. He’s a card carrying Republican from what I’m told. But he hasn’t convinced me with his arm yet. I’d love to be wrong.

You are discounting experience, I'm not saying Buchner is a stud QB, I'm just saying the QB room with both Buchner and Hartman has been upgraded from what we've had in recent years.

As for the younger QB's, yes Minchey and Carr will make the QB room even better in the coming years. The talent trend is up and we will have to see if it results in wins on fall Saturday's in the next 2-3 years.

He wasn't great in practices. He was just much better than Pyne

He's gotten a lot better

you need a top TE and 2 proficient WR’s one of which can stretch the field. Don’t need 6!
