QB situation

I hate to see any player leave because I assume that means some level of disappointment for them, and I feel bad for anyone whose dream to play at ND doesn't turn out like he hoped.

I'm also greedy and want to have three capable QBs available.

I thought Angeli had a real nice touch on his passes. My only real criticism of him is he occasionally took way too long to get rid of the ball. Just about every time he was sacked, I'd find myself thinking "Time's up! Throw it away!" And then about two seconds later, he'd get sacked.

If Angeli were the starter, I'd support him as a ND fan. I hope he does well. But I'm not sure he was going into the season as #3 even. Hebert might be a dude, he looks to be bigger and thicker than the others.

He's like Riley Leonard with an arm and we may see him overtake Minchey as #2 in the next year or 2.

We have a really good team this year.

Three months ago Marcus Freeman sent in Steve Angeli against Penn State in a national semi final, while Kenny Minchey wore a visor.

Three months ago CJ Carr was 4th string behind both Steve and Kenny. Now he is the projected starter passing both up. What's your point

Hebert looked like he should still be in High School....which maybe he should be but he is not ready and will not be ready in 2025. 2027? Realistically that is his goal.....red shirt this year ...back up next year after Carr or Minchey transfers then perhaps starter in 2027 when Carr or Minchey goes to the draft.

Regarding Kenny Minchey and the NFL Draft, I would like to see the kid take a meaningful snap against real competition.

Thanks for repeating my post.

100% agree. I would rather see Tyler Buchner play QB in 2025 than Blake Hebert.

"He's played in multiple games, and meaningful games, with success"

Angeli only played in 1 meaningful game -- the Orange Bowl. Yes, he "played" in many other games, but the outcome was never in doubt either. Yes, he did well in the Orange Bowl, but outside of that -- he, like Carr and Minchey have no starting experience at the collegiate level (yes, he started the bowl game against a non-descript, overmatched Oregon State) and played well --
Love how you just conveniently write off the Sun Bowl. Nothing like working to fit your narrative. We don't win the Orange Bowl without him. Of course I also said I trust the coaches who I know know more than any mouthpieces on this board. They've obviously decided, so I thank Angeli for what he actually did for UND and wish him well

No you are. Thought he should have e played over Leonard. Nope. Thought he was going to win the QB battle, nope

There's no way the coaches told them who was 1, 2 and 3 this soon. If they did 2 guys would transfer.

Most likely scenario and what you will here coming out is they told Carr and Minchey they were top 2 and they are going into fall camp in a battle. And they told Steve he was 3rd.

MF said he wanted it down to 2 for fall camp. Not surprised at all who the 2 are
"Most likely scenario"? Just supports the notion that you really don't know anything more than anybody else on this board.
