I prefer Carr. But I still would like to see all of them get playing time b/c they can all play. They all got game.

I thought last season that Minchey might be number 2 behind Leonard, but I was clearly wrong. He throws a damn good ball and has the added running dimension. This Spring He looks comfortable running the offense and clearly belongs in the conversation. It’s crazy to think Angeli is #3 given his performance when given the opportunity, but both Carr and Minchey played better today. Agree with your order based off today’s scrimmage, but that’s just one hyped practice. Carr’s arm and his ability to read the defense and his touch are impressive.
The thing with Minchey is we have a lot of weapons and a strong OL. I don't like it when the QB runs too much and the other players get neglected. Carr is very accurate. Minchey can be inserted inside the 10. That would screw up their D with dual threat 1st and goal.
This is tough. I’ve always been an Angeli guy and feel like he’s waited his time. I think Angeli is really accurate and has a slightly above average arm, but he’s such a statue and I worry with this o line. This team can easily make the playoffs with a guy like Angeli and I feel he will take care of the ball better than the other two.
The ceilings for Carr and Minchey are just so much higher.

“Waited his time” is not a reason to start, this isn’t a union job. Best player plays.
Completely agree. I mean on a personal level I would feel for him if he lost it, considering he could have left a couple years ago. Despite this, I still think this team is a lock to make the playoffs with Steve, whereas we might see some growing pains with the other two.
Don’t get me wrong, they are Uber talented, but the basic stuff, such as taking care of the ball and managing the game still trump that stuff (see Tom Brady).
They need to do more than “make the playoff” win the freaking thing.
This entire time I have been with Angeli until now. When Carr was nailing every pass today beyond 20 yards....the only way Angeli gets starting spot is if he clearly outplays Carr and Minchey and I don't think that's even possible at this point.
Minchey is pretty fast. Faster than I thought..
I know we don't want to jump into conclusions from this game...but at this point it's hard not to pick against Carr in my opinion. Those back to back 30 yard passes to the TE was impressive. I stopped watching after 2 period. I'm sure Carr hit some more throws.

I did watch the highlights and Carr is by far the best thrower. I still don’t get hung up on spring games.
I think it will be Carr or Minchey but if Minchey doesn't think he has a real chance to pass up Carr he may transfer
Experience does and should be weighed heavily. That's what "waited his time" really means. Time will tell, I trust our coaching staff
This is a good problem to have. I liked all the QBs. I think all 3 can start and win a lot of games for ND. I would focus on preference and execution in difficult situations. If Freeman wants a offense similar to last year, I think it's Minchey's job. If he wants to emphasize more passing, I'm going with Angeli or Carr.
After that, I'd focus on how do the QBs perform in 3rd and long and goal line situations. Whoever executes the best under pressure is my guess as to who wins the job.

He doesn't have much real "experience". He started 1 game and it was against a team that wasn't at full strength. And he has 1 series in the orange bowl. That's the only meaningful snaps he's taken in his career. That's really not much at all
Minchey is a better passer than runner. He runs because he can but is not his best attribute

I've thought about that, but i think it's terrible way to let that guide your decision. With that said though, I'd say Carr is the guy we can least afford to lose.

I would flip Angeli and Minchey. Minchey was not accurate. 6-14 42.8% completion rate, whereas Carr and Angeli were 14-19 73.6%, and 8-11 72.7% respectively.
Carr and Minchey were top 2 at the practice the media was at as well according to the media members in attendance. Minchey had 2 dropped passes. He has the strongest arm of the 3 and he's the best athlete.
It's pretty clear the 2 most talented is Carr and Minchey.
Angeli is solid. But don't think that will be enough when we have 2 really talented guys in the room

I dont claim to be an expert. I watch the games and I listen to people who cover the sport. I give my opinion like anyone else. I have been right on players and predicting things more than most. And I've been wrong just like every single person in football history
I've been right much more than you. And like I said Leonard was a better signing than Hartman and he was the QB on a team that won 3 playoff games and helped get us to the NC. I'll take that assessment just about every year. Leonard college career will be much better than the guy you wanted, Angeli. But you won't admit that when Angelis career is over and he doesn't have the career that Leonard did. You'll say 1st rd talent 1st rd talent.

I've said it forever. Spring game formats are not favorable environments to make ANY formative evaluation of a player good or bad. I understand they are for the fans and a necessary part of the promotion of the product. From a coaching standpoint what was accomplished in all the practices leading up to yesterday is far more valuable in the evaluation process than anything else. Great to see so much talent across the board. I'd be surprised if there was not some attrition from portal activity. It's just the nature of the current beast. Looking forward to the portal additions who were not available and the rest of the incoming freshman too.
You can’t tell me the players don’t have an idea of where they rank based on their own performances and watching their teammates. I’d expect one of the 3 to hit the spring portal in a couple days. Minchey returning home to Tennessee would not come as a surprise.

I think people are way overlooking Angeli's track record/experience up to this point and just how good his numbers and efficiency have been while playing. I think people are also overlooking just how much Angeli fits into the current composition & identity of NDs team: run heavy/power football/clock control.
Angeli doesn't need to be the next Jimmy Clausen, but the next Jack Coan would do for now (based on what is available on the roster in 2025)
I think Carr's injury just put him a year behind in his development and Minchey being the lesser of the two prospects will probably be the odd man out.

Denbrock's offense is whatever his best personnel dictates his offense to be.
ND has an elite O-line and an elite RB and not much else on offense (as of the 2025 spring game) and based on a similar offensive profile to last year where they were run/power run heavy i'm assuming something very similar this upcoming season in terms of offensive identity.
Angeli's game fits this team-comp perfectly.

Chase what do you think about malaki Fields the transfer from Virginia? 6ft4 big fast. Put up some stats on Leonard Moore when we played them.
Greathouse is solid. Faison is solid. We always have good TEs. Wisconsin kid seems formidable .
I think our pass catching group is a little underrated here by you. Greathouse torched penn state and Ohio state.
I think it's critical this group takes a step forward this year.
