Good morning Alice. I do recall that your Abby has a Pituitary Gland Tumor, and I am somewhat familiar with this condition as a friends granddaughter was diagnosed with same a few years ago. Long story short, she was being seen by Drs at a highly regarded UC Hospital clinic, and one recommended they incur the travel expense and take her to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. He had interned these and expressed the opinion that they have the best center of excellence in treating Pituitary Gland Tumors in this country. I won’t go into details as every patient is different as are the treatment options, other than to say they are extremely grateful for the advice as their experience was tremendously positive.Yes, very blessed! Thank you for sharing your story. My Abby has a Pituitary Gland Tumor that has turned her life and health upside down. Sometimes it takes hearing others have lived through difficult heath issues with a child with positive end results to boost the spirits.
Thank you for posting this! Ab goes to the IU Med Center for treatment and they referred her to Mayo for a trial drug program that starts in June. She was supposed to start in February, but PTG related issues delayed her trip. It's good to know that others have had a positive experience with Mayo and PGT.Good morning Alice. well, thank you. Keep up the prayers. The disease is a tough one, and I am actually in the hospital, all week, as a patient, for the 1st time in my life. The upside to the downside is I met some wonderful talented people (Doctors and Specialists) that will be valuable in mounting a successful battle. I hope I can return and do daily visits on Sat. Been a while since I felt optimistic about the team of professional helping and administering to me! Thanks again for your thoughts.Perse, been thinking about you and hoping you're feeling better. Keep fighting and we'll keep praying! #teamperse
Will pray and send positive thoughts Abby’s way. I read a Lot about this condition when my friends granddaughter was diagnosed. Remember thinking our son had pretty significant brain damage from his stroke at one day old, and the impact was almost entirely limited to motor function of three limbs. And yet these tiny benign tumors in a pea size glad can cause an incredible array of significant physical and emotional health problems that can be far more disruptive and life altering than our son’s cerebral palsy. Daily prayers for successful surgery or surgeries, and for a Mayo miracle.Thank you for posting this! This month we have a scope to see if she has an ulcer and next month surgery to remove a tumor...which still leaves a mass on her thyroid that is closely being watched and will come out after the Mayo visit. It's just totally crazy that this very small Gland with a very tiny tumor could cause so many health issues and yes, the issues can be few or many. Unfortunately for Ab...she has many and I do mean many. She is strong and has a good support system...we are hopeful that Mayo can help her. Thanks again for the post!
Thank you for your prayers! You are so right about these tumors affecting physical and mental health. Among the many medical appointments she keeps is therapy for her mental well-being. So many health issues to cope with can be overwhelming and depressing for anyone of any age. Will pray and send positive thoughts Abby’s way. Vincennes was lucky, but Sullivan not so much. As I understand it the south end of Sullivan got flattened. Lots of folks volunteering and donating goods to our friends up the road.Hey Alice, I now it’s little late but did you survive the tornadoes last Friday ok? Firstly I hope that as many as can read this do read this.
I am so happy to tell the board members that you, Telx1, exemplify everything that can be good sportsmanship among fans. I do not know you personally, though that is my regret, however you demonstrate a character and manner that we might all take as an example to emulate. It as been my privilege to have, in these recent months shared comments, ideas and hopes; I am grateful, Sir, for that opportunity.
Telx1d1042,
I am humbled and honored by your gracious comments here. The smart ass in me thought your pain meds have maybe kicked up a notch, but overall I sincerely appreciates your sentiments as I know from where they come. All of us on this specific thread have had heartfelt meaningful exchanges with you. We likewise are grateful for this opportunity, but we will be collectively pissed if we don’t have several more years to exchange ideas and comments, and tease the witty and almighty Perse! Looking forward to this. Fight on!
