We will be #5... I guarantee you*

I actually think Boise would be a very favorable matchup for ND. I can easily see Jeanty getting 150 but needing 35-40 carries to get it. The ND stable of backs would likely go over 200 in 25 carries or so. It's a physical mismatch. Citing games from way early in the season is useless at this point in time. Anyone with a shred of football knowledge understands that teams evolve over the course of a season .

Is your ounce of football knowledge referring to the physical mismatch like we had against NIU?

The fact remains BSU has one loss to the #1 in the country. Could have won that game.
We lost to the 7th team in the MAC in NIU at home.
They've been played. It's history.
Does that mean anything if we play BSU? Not much other than they've shown they can play with anyone and we've shown we can lose to anyone.
That's simply a fact.

BUT...
What does mean something...
We have the 52nd best defense against the run.
BSU has the 17th best defense against the run.
We are the 10th best rushing team in the county. That's great.
BSU, however, has the 5th best in the country.

BSU has the 5th best offense overall.
Our Offense...42nd.

Why this is a bad matchup for us...
If Jeanty gets rolling that means we don't have the football. The very thing we do to the opposition because lord knows we can't pass, they do even better than we do.

Jeanty put a 190 spot on Oregon..the 22nd ranked team against the run..
Again, we are 52nd against the run.

If Jeanty gets going we're in trouble.
We don't have the quick strike offense to counter Jeanty and we're MUCH MORE one dimensional than BSU.

I'm not worried about any of the other 11 teams.
BSU is just the team I want to play the least.

Two things that do concern me.
Getting behind by 14 or more quick points....against any team...

Chasing Jeanty around for 60 minutes. Is a major concern.

We demoralize a defense when we shred them rushing the ball...

That ship goes both ways.

Yes he shredded them in week 2. No sweat about Boise whatsoever. If you think he can shred NDs defense so be it. I don't. Stats are very misleading as you should know. USC, Virginia and Army all scored in the final minute of a game long since decided yet the statistics still count as they should. It's not the cumulative numbers that tell the story but everything that occurred that arrived at those numbers that tells the story accurately. You've taken the lazy man's approach. Go inside the numbers and maybe you'll learn something.

Boise is an okay team. In a real conference they have at least 3 losses right now

They struggled with Wyoming Nevada UNLV. Also gabe up 45 points to Ga Southern.

They played 1 p4 teams all season. They aren't a factor in the Playoffs.

We beat them by 2 scores and never in doubt

"They struggled with Wyoming Nevada UNLV. Also gabe up 45 points to Ga Southern."

But they didn't lose, right?
We struggled and LOST against NIU.
They also took
#1 Oregon to the limit @ Eugene and could have won.
We needed two defensive scores to properly dispose USC!

Again...when are you going to learn parity in cfb has never been higher
Allow me a different way to explain it for both young and old so you, and your pal Echo, understand it.
You follow what ESPN tells you like the SEC is the only teams playing football.
He thinks John Robinson is still doing USC in his first stint.

Offense. The game is mo longer 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Teams get points today. Unless you're Purdue or a packed it in FSU, teams get points.

The transfer portal. Players no longer willing to wait their turn. They want the here and now.

The biggest glaring difference today due to all the above...

If the prettier team...one of you or Echo's elitist teams from the trendy "P5" LOL...clearing my throat...which has now become the "P4" ....

If one of those teams in days of yore, the days ECHO still lives in has an off game and the opponent is absolutely spot on and everything clicking, the elite team still has enough to overcome its bad game and get a win.

Today? No,no,no,no!
The alleged elite Power conf. team has an off day it's a loss and often times a very painful lopsided loss.

The separation between the have's and the have not's today is tiny.
I am not talking about Oregon versus the 130th ranked team but...

A team like NIU...has just enough, to beat a prettier team on their off day.

A team like Oklahoma who is down this year has just enough to beat Golson's favorite team Bama 24-3 if they've an "off" day.

Lastly,
Notice I haven't made any game score predictions whatsoever.

I simply said BSU is the team I'd want to face the least.

I simply said Boise is the team I'd want to play the most. They have the least talent of any top 12 team and haven't played strong competition at all.

I would love to play them

And we got shredded for 557 yards in week 12.

"It's not the cumulative numbers that tell the story but everything that occurred that arrived at those numbers that tells the story accurately"

That's rich...
You point out numbers but only selective numbers.
USC got a meaningless touchdown at the end alright but let's not forget we got 14 defensive points in that game.

We were outgained by a lot.
557-436

Sooo....then.... let's hope BSU won't show up with any offense whatsoever.

A win is a win and I'll take them however they come but let's not act like USC only got a lucky touchdown at the end.
SC moved the ball at will.

And Mr Leonard made sure to have one of his signature underthrown passes for an interception again. That's always a promising sign 🙄

Moreover those talking heads you live your life by say the very same thing about our 2024 schedule.

Teans can't predict their opposition quality yearly.

Fact is BSU played Oregon and could have won. In Eugene.

We didn't play a team as good as Oregon.
Matter of fact our toughest games were week 1 @A&M (8-4) and week12 @ USC.... a .500 team.

Let's not tought our schedule as some juggernaut this year.

Oh that part. Yeah we beat them by 2 scores no doubt. They are a solid squad, we are much better

Also, our schedule is much more difficult than theirs. Not even close
