Look at the majors of the Mich athletes (and have a graduate degree from Ross Business). Big is selling their academic reps for the football money. You like it, good for you.

Also 5 schools - Minn, Pedo, MSU, OSU, and Mich all have had major sex scandals. At they jettisoned Warren

I live in so. California, 45 minutes from UCLA if there is no traffic, which is never. UCLA is extremely well regarded in this state academically.

Those World rankings are largely based on student size, grad schools, post grad research, international student body. They are important for sure. But ND is largely an under graduate driven university. That's why we score so well on rankings that focus on undergrad excellence. That is who we chose to be--and it's pretty great. That is why you are here and we are not on your boards. Just like we choose to be independent. And you two (Quixote and Ivan) unfortunately fear and resent what you don't understand and can't have. Otherwise, you wouldn't be over here on our board, talking about our school, showing all your sad insecurities with every post.

If you came across a tourist from Germany visiting the U.S., you would think his visit means that he fears and resents the U.S.

The world rankings include the grad schools. ND's grad school is underwhelming. And that is why you do so poorly in the world rankings.

As much as I loathe and detest the Big 10, what I can not imagine is spending any time whatsoever on a Michigan, Ohio St., Penn St., or Purdoesn't Football Forum.

I would think far worse than that if this hypothetical German came to the US every month for the purpose of telling us that we were underwhelming. What a sad case he would be. Can you even imagine? And yet the grad school component has zero bearing on the topic of the academic demands (or in this case lack of such in the Big10) for incoming football recruits or current players. It’s like saying Argentina’s national ice hockey team is ranked behind those teams from the northern hemisphere. When Mich is recruiting 85 players from Europe, give us a call

Well, it's different metrics for sure. The Times rankings look at faculty publications, patents won by faculty and Nobel prizes and weigh engineering and computer science more than vespers and Latin.
