OT: Death, Taxes and Lebron James

What did this have to do with Michael Jordan? Are you on MJs d*** so hard that even the talk about Lebron gets your panties in a bunch......

Why didnt you bring up Bill Russell? He has 11 rings and 5 MVPs. That dwarfs MJ....because those numbers are the only one that matters right? So Russell is the GOAT then.

Much tougher era.... lol

Also MJ played 15 seasons, not 12 you idiot. He was my favorite player. You obviously didnt watch him enough
Wow you are truly dumb. The topic is relevant when the OP includes GOAT and refers to Lebron. Bill Russell and MJ are right there together. Lebron is so far removed from those two, to even consider Lebron in that tier is laughable.

As for Jordan, I followed him as well, but I'm not going to count his days after the bulls. He was a shell of himself. The beatings had caught up with him. Honestly, as a Knicks fan I hated MJ at that time, he was literally a Knicks killer, so for me to give him the props he deserves is more credible than any fan of his who would show bias.

Oh you're not going to count them because he wasn't nearly as good then. I see. You only want to count the good things. He was a shell of himself because he gained too much weight and smoked too many cigars and stayed out all night gambling. Lets be real. He doesnt need any excuses. His play was amazing and wouldnt even use that weak ass excuse you just said. Hed be embarrassed by that talk. He pkayed 15 seasons, the last 2 were just not nearly as good

Most consider Lebron now number 2 overall. That is pretty much the overall consensus. If you dont thats fine but you would be in the minority

The top 5 is usually

MJ
LeBron
Kareem
Russell
Magic

And actually the OP specifically said this IS NOT A GOAT DEBATE. You just got your panties in a bunch and all sensitive. Weird

I explained why I don't count his final 2-3 years. He took a beating throughout his career and his back was shot. He was a shell of himself at that point.

If he was afforded the luxury of playing in Lebron's era with no touching, and load balancing Jordan would have had a productive 20+ year career easily.

As for #2 all time that's very debatable. Fact is Bird had better numbers in his prime than Lebron did in his entire career. Look at Birds MVP season at age 30. Lebron wish he could average those numbers in a single season. 😂

Yes you can rank Bob Cousy in his era and then when you rank who are the best players over all eras you don't include him

It's extremely easy. It's Lebron without a doubt
W/O a doubt you never saw Havlcheck in the playoffs or clutch situation! He was the real Mr. Clutch

This is such a laughable and moronic and ignorant comment. I'm not even by surprised.

You're either a dope or a douche

STFU 🤣🤣🤣
No it’s not.. the way defense is handcuffed by the officials has changed the physicality of the game. Reminds me of football. It’s not necessarily the players are soft but the game is soft. Guys can’t play defense, it’s a joke. Again, not an indictment on the players (although they are premadonna salesman) but rather the state of the game. let’s not even begin to refute the way the game is officiated has immensely benefited the offenses/health of players.

Yeah I heard you the first time.

That was embarrassing

🤣🤣 On Bird. As a Celtic fan and a huge Larry Bird fan, come on don't make me laugh lol

Because I was responding to him making into a MJ v Lebron debate.

I did not start it

So to you, what a crock of shit your response was

The OP nor I made it a GOAT debate. It's the people who get their feelings hurt who try to make it that way

LeBron is having one of his best starts to a season ever and is playing like a top 8 player at an age when most players are retired or aren’t effective anymore. The Lakers have been completely awful with him off the court and this is withAnthony Davis. The crazy thing is that LeBron is doing this with mostly below the rim play.

If he played in the 80s, he wouldn’t have the time to be ‘dominant” cuz he’d be crying to the refs even more than he does now. Dude had the balls to complain about flopping a few weeks ago. Lol. That’s the most glaring case of pot meet kettle I’ve ever heard. F lebrenda

“🤣🤣 On Bird. As a Celtic fan and a huge Larry Bird fan, come on don't make me laugh lol”

Laugh all you want, I’d take bird ahead of lebrenda, no doubt.

Watched the LA Lakers lose to the Dallas Mavericks last night. Lakers aren't a top 4 team in their own conference, IMO.

I get that most people on this board hate Lebron, but he just keeps defying logic. He shouldnt be able to do what he does at this age & in year 21. Averaged 26pts 7reb 8ast this season & did it against the deepest talent pool in NBA history. He will never be as graceful or have an impact on pop culture or be as loved as MJ, but god damn he has given us over 2 decades of greatness that I doubt can be replicated.

People grew up loving MJ so they have to hate on Lebron. It's pathetic but that's the world we live in these days

I don’t normally watch the NBA but have been the last few months. I’ve been quite amazed by his abilities at his age. Good passer too.

I get the MJ love. Im a Gen Xer and MJ is the biggest historical figure of our generation. Bigger than Clinton, Tupac, Cobain, ect... he was and is a mythical figure to us. He has a hold on my generation & even younger generations that is undeniable. The "GOAT" debate really comes down to taste and for me Lebron body of work impresses me more than MJ or any other bball player ive ever watched. Doesnt mean im right or wrong just my opinion.

Actually Lebron owned Kobe. Lebron was better than Kobe by a good amount
Please show us video as I did of Kobe owning Lebron. You like to state things that aren't true. Biggest loser on this forum.

There's nothing "mythical..." to me regarding Michael Jordan.

Simply put, Michael Jordan is the greatest NBA player I have ever seen.

Lebron is definitely not a selfish player and is a great facilitator, but I wouldn’t call him “one of the best passers ever”. There are many players in the history of the nba that were better passers. He will have all the stats because he’s played for so long but his greatness is in his athleticism, not his overall basketball skill, imo.

Okay, how about facts. And not a silly biased highlight clip....

Lebron and Kobe faced off head to head 22 times

Lebron is 16 and 6 against Kobe

In those games, Lebron averaged more

Points
Rebounds
Assists
Steals
Blocks
Better fg pct
Better 3 pt pct

You are the one who states things that are not true. You talk out of your ass. You know even less about basketball than you do about football and that is hard to do because you know shit about football

You got on Youtube and put a video probably from a Lebron hater and you had no clue what the hell you were talking about

You shouldn't be allowed to talk basketball you know so little. A complete loser you are

Labronny needs to just play basketball and keep his political/racist views to himself. No one cares what he thinks. Thats why people don't like him.
And I don't like his political views. I don't agree with him at all. But it's America and he can express said views as much as he wants and is entitled to have them. So no he doesn't need to just play basketball. This is America and he has every right to speak his mind and say what he wants, when he wants. No matter how silly I think they are

But that has zero to do with how good he is at basketball

Oh that is completely wrong. He is one of the greatest, most gifted passes of all time. He's like Bird passing the ball. His vision is insane

Both guys are among the greatest passers ever. Neither will be close in APG because they have to score so much for their team. But in terms of vision and skill there aren't many better passers in NBA history than Bird and Lebron

Unreal vision and feel. Lebron is a better passer than scorer which is ridiculous to think about

PSA: THIS IS NOT A GOAT DEBATE OR A POLITICAL THREAD

All im gonna say is how can he still be playing at this level in year fricking 21?
While it's still early in the season the dude is still performing like a legit top 10 player in the league. He defies NBA logic. When he goes off the court the Lakers fall apart when he is on the court their a +21.
I fully expect the haters to come out in full force, but at some point yall owe him atleast a golf clap

LeBron James under investigation for alleged performance-enhancing drug use

I imagine his buddies in China are also helpful as well

First off they played different positions Kobe was a shooting guard, Leflop is a small forward/power forward. As for wins that's due to LeFlop changing teams moving to teams in his effort to win championships. 😂

Now let's discuss what really matters, rings. Kobe didn't have to join up with and leave his teams to win rings. Lebron is a ho, who needed other players to win rings and his record in championship series is atrocious. Kobe was a killer, Lebron is soft.
The only reason he has the stats he has, is due to the changes in the game that allowed the offense to flourish. If he plays in the 80's and 90's his career doesn't last as long, his stats are diminished, and he most likely struggles to win 1 ring.
