ND gets Screwed

ND has the easiest side of the bracket .. get through Georgia and you are favored vs all the other opponents until the national championship game

They should be ahead of PSU. But not TX.

But why in the hell is SMU ahead of a team that beat them for their championship yesterday.

Arizona state or Boise would’ve been easier but UGA without Beck is a great matchup. Me matchup very well with UGA

I thought ND deserved the 6 seed, but the committee clearly isn't going to punish the losers of the conference championship games.

Also, IU is the worst first round game ND could have gotten going in. It negates a home game in December and IU is going to be very motivated to show they’re the best team in Indiana.

Yes, they should still absolutely win. But it’s not the ideal first round game by any means.

Nothing new here! The Board Room is never going to give the Irish a break. That's just a fact!

look at the composition of the committee

Look at their bios

Then ask yourself: who’s better qualified to rank the teams…. The committee or Vegas

I totally agree. It's a chance for IU to upgrade its pedigree, not only in the state but nationally. And the weather factor won't be a problem for them as much as it would as a true southern team.

The Notre Dame vs. IU game is a night game at 8PM on 12-20, a Friday night.

IU is 11-1, have 0 wins vs any marquee teams (#10 in F+) and have the 57th ranked talent.

ND will be an easy favorite/should be an easy win especially with home field advantage.

Georgia is without their starting QB in round 2.

Then you just have to get through penn state or boise (which ND is a favorite vs both of them have better talent and have higher F+ ranking)

This path is about as good as it could have gone.

I'm fine with this.

There are worse ways than to start at home vs Indiana.

Fine, then Georgia...but you have to at some point play the best.

I'm excited and fairly confident.

No need to fear Indiana or Georgia...really anybody in this playoff.

ND is capable of winning the whole thing.

Here you make sense. Unlike the claim that past SEC teams could possibly compete in the NFL!

:D

I also like this path. Bring it on. ND is well capable of running the playoff table. Georgia is the big test...but like you said, without their staring QB.

#10 in F+

So you should have a ton of respect for them and consider them one of the best teams in the country

No the path could have been much better with the 5 or 6 seed. Only spot worse is 8

The Commish is on ESPN now trying to make sense of this. He's not very convincing.

BS. A two-loss PSU team barely beats USC in OT by 3. We beat them by two touchdowns. So much for shared opponents.

Guys come on. ND is for me a clear favorite. I respect any opponent and don't assume a win.

I expect MF won't. As I said, if ND plays its A game, it should be a strong enough win. MF has grown as a disciplinarian and game day prep coach.

I said the same about USC. ND didn't play its A game...but had enough quality to grind out a win. ND is a very good team by now.

No screw job here. ND lost to NIU and is not in a conference. I'll take this path...as ranking means nothing now that the playoffs are here.

Win each game. Period.
