Lights out basketball? Ya, turn the lights out. This year is already in the dumpster. *

Just wanted to find this and bring it back to life.....

Good win by the Irish. I just wish that ZA could hit from 2 feet in.....he could score 30 points a night.... :)

Lets get on a roll heading to the ACC tournament... GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!

Great win tonight! Don't worry, I'm sure this thread will be brought up again in the future.

Why will it be brought up again and by whom? We all know you'll be on here crowing with any more losses for ND.

You started this thread a full month ago and here are our boys still in position for an NCAA tourney bid. To that point you have been proven wrong.

You can't wait for another Irish loss so that you can tell us all how right you were. If you really are a Notre Dame fan you're the worst kind that exists, because you would rather the team loses so that you're right rather than have them win and have to admit you were wrong (which you won't anyway).

Your posts sound just like one Brian Davidson, who has been on here under multiple handles and is in serious need of psychological help.

Sounds like you can't wait for ND to lose again so that you can boast about how right you were.

That fact that you can't disagree without personnally attacking those with whom you disagree speaks volumes...about you and your state of mental health. I want a coach who wins more than one sweet sixteen game in 20 years of head coaching. You do not. Peace.

Your take on this has been beyond stupid.....you just need to admit that, point out how idiotically wrong you were........and eat your crow

In the last few season's Brey has a fantastic record, won the ACC, made the Elite 8, and has beaten many of the top teams in the country (repeatedly)

There is no room to complain about Brey at this point. He's clearly one of the better coaches in CBB

No, I can agree to disagree. I only personally attack those (like you) that pretend to be ND fans but in reality are not.

While you're at it, please provide the list of ND coaches that have done better than Brey. Peace.

If you think winning exactly one sweet sixteen game in 20 years makes him one of the better coaches, fine. If you think having a losing season two years ago is indicative of the performance of a better coach, fine. If you think two good seasons out of 20 is worthy of declaring a coach better, fine. Peace.

Yeah, the guy has taken ND to the NCAA many times, but let's focus on the bad year.

Oh, you want to limit comparisons of Brey to other ND BB coaches? At least you have moved from the realm of nonsensical to reasonable. Yes, you're right, he might be one of the better ND MENS BB coaches.

So you admit he's a good coach? Good!

You define getting to the NCAAs as a great year. Bully for you and your low standards.

Don't put words in my mouth. Nowhere did I say that making the NCAA was a great year. Don't set up straw man arguments.

The inference is there for all to see. But let's say I erred and that you think making the NCAAs is indicative of a good, but not great, year. My point is the same. Bully for you and your low standards.

Aren't you clever trying to ascribe to others opinions which they do not have? The facts are this: you are openly rooting for ND to lose. You have repeatedly posted that ND's season was in the dumpster. You were dead wrong.
You have proven to be a fool, and rather than admit that you were wrong, you have elected instead to attack those who have called you out. What a loser.

Your a boob. Get lost. Your act is tired.

I have openly stated I hope I am wrong. Again, bully for you and your low standards..and for ducking from admitting your low standards.

So you're focusing on 1 stat (number of 'Sweet 16 Games Won') and 1 Year......and you think you have an even-semi reasonable opinion??

You realize how unbelievably stupid that is, right?
I'm talking "invading Russia in the winter" levels of dumb

Brey building up a quality CBB program at a "Football First" school makes him a good coach
Brey building up a program that consistently wins a high % of games CBB at a "Football First" school makes him a good coach
Brey building a program that consistently qualifies for the NCAA Tourny makes him a good coach
Brey beating a multitude of CBB Elites (such as Duke, UNC, Syracuse, Louisville, etc.) make him a very good coach
Brey taking that team to the Elite 8 makes him a very good coach
Brey winning the ACC (in only his 2nd year) makes him one of the better coaches in CBB

Really no one with a functioning brain would try to argue that what Brey has done at ND doesn't put him among the better coaches in CBB

Sorry to have to break that to you

Peace!
(lol)

Well you're definitely wrong, and a full blown idiot

So we can get that out of the way

Making the NCAA does represent at good (though not necessarily great) year

Trying to say that consistently have a team that performs at least at that level isn't a good (though not necessarily great) coaching job is just plain idiotic

Now if you're consistently that good and sometimes even better.....that's heading towards great status

I've been right 18 out of 20 seasons. If Brey wins his second sweet sixteen game this year, you'll be 3-18 and I'll gladly fall to 18-3 (with hopes of falling to 18-4 next year).

He's not on the "Elite Level" that a Coach K or Tom Izzo is at.....but he's on the next level down from that

I would put him on that "Tier 2" level (I'd term it "Great") with coaches like Bo Ryan

It's not a season by season metric, nor is the only way to judge a successful season by the outcome of the NCAA tournament.....there is so much more to it than that

You're inability to understand that is why youre wrong.....not 3/18 wrong, not 13/18 wrong...........just completely wrong

Brey is one of the better coaches in CBB, that's just the way it is

But it's good to see that your glad about being so hysterically, comically wrong..............personally, I'd be humiliated if I was such an idiot

You see, its all about definitions - good, tier 2 or great, and elite. If your definition of "tier 2" or "great" coaching is a coach who has won exactly one sweet sixteen game after 20 attempts, then we are completely in sync.

Really pathetic. Are you a Duke fan?

Yep, I can see the issue clearly

You're using only 1 very limited metric to judge Brey's coaching career and I'm actually evaluating his entire body of work

We're definitely not in sync, nor would I ever want to be in sync with someone as intellectually limited as yourself

Intellectually limited is much too kind.

Well tell us the other metrics you're considering then. They better be real special to overcome abject failure in the post season.

Gritty win ... to come back from 11 down vs louisville.

Great job guys!

Notre Dame with another big win today over Louisville. Irish are now 18-7. Where is the OP?
I'm still here and my expectations for the past four games were summed up by Brey in his presser today when he was asked how he felt about going 3-1 in that stretch. "I would have been happy with 2 and 2." We're definitely on the same page.
