Last Big ND Tourney Run?

I like your basketball team and wish them well in the tourney, I hope both of our teams last long enough to meet in the tournament. Watching the Irish this week got me thinking when was the last time the Irish went deep in the tournament? I'm an old guy so I can remember a very good Digger Phelps Irish team playing Magic Johnson's Spartans in the 1979 tournament but I don't remember an Irish team making a big run since, it's probably happened and I don't remember. I don't mean to be a smart ass by asking so please don't take offense if I don't remember some successful Irish teams. When was the last deep run by the Irish?
