I think for here on out, after going 4-8 (because he was distracted - LOL) every game is a validation game for Kelly after 6 mediocre/piss poor seasons and 1 very lucky one. Some of the things that come out of this guys mouth are unbelievable.

Maybe Kelly meant one game won't make or break the season. They could lose and still have a successful season which would allow him to keep his job.

Facing a Freshman QB at home in the 2nd game of the season... imo it's a must win if the Irish have sights on 10 wins. I know UGA recruits well and have great depth but a loss here doesn't bode well given the games ND has down the road.
Only a moron accepts a 3 loss season as a great accomplishment. Only a moron thinks a beat down by OSU in the Fiesta Bowl is a good season. So even if you take that 3 loss season in 2015 as a good year, that is only 2 good years out of 7. Enough said. Your idiocy has no bounds.

Who said it was a great accomplishment ? You said it was mediocre. That's moronic and completely lacking in even the most basic knowledge of the game of football.
You let a decent SEC team with a true Freshman QB beat you because one of the strengths of your team, the OL, were manhandled all night. Your Special Teams KO team gave the opponent good field position all night while your punt return team had negative yards in returns. All this in front of a national TV audience and a neutral crowd in the stadium. It was a frustrating, disappointing, embarrassing night to say the least. If you want to play with the big boys, you need to start winning these winnable games.

It makes me feel awful that Kelly can't win any important games on a National stage. i am not joining you Kelly lovers in gaining up on fans that are sick of losing. You know Georgis lost to vanderbilt at home last year? You know they lost 5 games? You know they barely beat Nicholls State? That is why I thought the Irish would win by two scores. Kelly sucks ! Notre Dame deserves better ! We have had scandal after scandal since Kelly took over.
Love your passion bodi but it's only game two. The season and the coaching situation will play itself out. I m not throwing in the towel after a one point, hard fought loss to a quality opponent. Let's see how they rebound going forward.

We always have close losses to quality opponents. It is almost mind blowing that we can never upset any team. Navy does it to us all the time.
What's your point ? It's week two. Kelly will be the coach for the rest of the season. If they win next week in impressive fashion will you be all gung ho again the way you were after week one ? Did you expect an undefeated season ? If you did what were you basing that on ? I didn't t watch the game live as we were playing last night. I ll watch it a couple times today. From the few folks I texted with today it was a good battle.

Quite a bit. 35 to 17 in 2010 And last year and against Charlie and we barely beat then a few times. The point is we have way more talent then them but they have beaten us a few times. We never beat teams that are better than us. We nver rise to the occasion

Notre Dame was leading late and Kelly got super conservative. Bottom line Notre Dame lost under Kelly again--we have won only 5 out of the last 16 games--that is pathetic.
I see it clearly. That doesn't t change the fact that he will be the coach for the rest of the season. I guess it depends on what you choose to focus on. Coaches and players don t have the luxury of dwelling on the past game. You review and then move forward to the next opponent. I am still optimistic about the season.
Yes. That's well documented. I don t think they "let " the opponent win. One thing I ve always noticed in my many years here. ND rarely gets beat. They do lose though.

The team played hard and Georgia deserved the win but why can't the Irish ever pull off n upset? Even get lucky. I liked Kelly but in eight years he hasn't been able to get wins against very good teams. I think the Irish need to go in a different direction after the season. Like last year Duke upset us. Why can Kellys teams get upset but never pull off an upset themselves? In 2015 they had a good season but lost to the three favored teams. Kelly can't win the big game.
So you feel a change is in order regardless of how the season plays out ? Fair enough.
As a fan who remembers the good old days, yes, I do expect an undefeated season. Maybe that is unrealistic for ND in this day and age, but at least win the games you should win.
