Kelly strikes out - this is the class

look, ND is not going to catch or supplant the Bama's who sell out to win! UM included now; but ND fans just hope for the best and most exciting team possible given the circumstances and decision model set for the football program within the academic standard chosen.

unnerstand?

oh, dear me, poor Perse has his feelings hurt. UM is now "selling out." lol. Harbaugh works harder than every other coach. That's an opinion supported by virtually everyone who has ever worked beside him. What rule pray tell did Harbaugh break? Are you really that butthurt about a coach pulling an offer while kids commit, decommit, recommit and decommit every day? Is "selling out" anything more than a euphemism for pulling out all the stops? Testing the limits of amateurism? Kind of like having your own TV network deal, having your own series on Showtime or going to ridiculous lengths to recruit a high school kid....some might say this is an example of "selling out".... http://www.irishsportsdaily.com/2016/01/28/notre-dame-rollin-out-all-the-stops-for-robertson/

haha

your #3 in your own conference and not likely to have influence to hurt anyone's feelings.

Not a bad class. Probably will finish 12-15...par for Kelly. Some nice players but no difference makers. Robertson may come but most likely not based on the desire to go to Stanford. So he will drag NSD until the spring. Forget Jones and McC...no chance. C. Kelly 100-1 longshot.

So this is it. Some 4 stars and a lot of 3 stars. In rivals, quantity surely matters. Good class but no progress made above other classes. Similar to the team. 10-2 against weak competition. A normal ND schedule would have spelled another 8-5 season. Running in place.

And we lost all of out good players. so another 8-5 season is on the horizon. After that, maybe 9-4 and then back to 8-5. Shit...it is really sad.

No DL. No Teo like LB's. Yeah, some galuts at OL. Pride as the marque recruit on defense. Sad.
What evil doer put the curse on us which has these guys coming back with new screen names over and over again? Who did we piss off that badly?

actually we're #4 in our own conference. The #3 team just rolled ND in the Fiesta Bowl. #ouch
Maybe I'm wrong but I could swear that OSU ended up as the HIGHEST ranked Big 10 team, and had the best record of any Big 10 team.

Lets see - Iowa & MSU crucified in bowl games - Michigan totally crushed by OSU - depleted ND gave them a game - Nice try!

correct. AFTER the bowl games. Might want to check the final regular season rankings as determined by the Playoff Committee. MSU, Iowa, OSU in that order. Of course, I'm sure what you guys say carries more weight than what the Committee said. Let's not get sidetracked though. I'm still waiting on Perse to reply with an answer to the question above: what rule has Harbaugh broken?

Rom you didn't clarify. Are you talking who's #1 through #4 NOW, or who was #1 through #4 in mid December? I went with the NOW.

what difference does it make? UM is # whatever! in spite of low standards UM is irrelevant!

go look at tOSU class or MSU class; Sleepovers, cutting commits, lower standards and UM is not gaining on anyone.

Umm - I guess in Michigan people {leaded water} accept that the Head Coach wants to sleep around with the players - too bad Penn State wasn't in Ann Arbor - all would have been fine.

To Kellys heroes ,

We will see how these defensive ends develop. But it has been a constant and written that we need dominate defensive tackles .Our defensive line hasn't been that good since Nix ,Tuitt ,etc in 2012. Okwara and Day and Smith are huge losses and not easily replaced . Our overall defense this season was ranked 45th . Do we improve on that ?

The sky is falling the sky is falling!

Perse, let him stand on his own. Please refrain from interjecting. This guy makes a living out of his 1-line put-downs and has done it to you multiple times. Do not bail him out.
And you sir are a coward.

It's obvious you've created this handle to directly attack a long-time poster that is not only a true ND grad, but one of the most respected posters on this board.

Therefore, if you get kicked off with this name you merely go back to your old one. I'm betting you're TOM.

The defensive staff has the bodies to have a top 15 defense. Their is talent on the team. ND has had top 10-15 recruiting classes for the last 6-7 years. BVG has to do a better job of developing talent and putting them in the best places to be compete. The defensive line should be the strength of the defense this year as long as Jones, Tillery, Rochelle, and Cage stay healthy. DBs should be alright too. The defense has a chance to be better next year depending who takes over the Mike and if Tranquil can come back from the injury. If you have to depend on freshmen too much, your team will not be that successful anyway. ND should still have a stellar season next year. Kill the turnover bug and ND should be a top 10 team all season again.

Big fan of posts where I learn about the team and the recruits, rather than see people bicker like children....this gets old.

Troll

? what if no additions are made to the current class and it indeed does finish 12-15?

does that make you the troll and the OP correct?

see opinions are all your gonna get here! even the premium stuff is just opinion.

ND has not finished in the Top 10 since 2012. 11th, outside the top 25, 20th
Recruiting has generally been reflected in that. This is over a period pretty much the case for most teams trying to compete in the top 25. Outside the top 25 there is more parity.

Don't bring up injuries. Injuries reflect depth. Depth reflects recruiting. Results reflect the recruiting depth.

With Hayes most likely moving to DE...

How are we doing at LB?
Average. No difference makers with limited upside. Even if Hayes stays at LB, he is unproven and has barely played over the last two years due to a chronic shoulder injury. Based on Kelly's inability to keep his players on the field, expect to see Hayes out with injuries his entire career. Again, a typical Kelly recruiting class with a 12-15 ranking (generous) reflective of his teams. Meanwhile Harbaugh is eating Kelly's lunch.

At least Kelly got some decent WR's as usual. Does he realize there are other positions on the team?

ND needs to find a Frank Stams on the roster; maybe Trumb? They need to find a pass rush somewhere.

To clarify he didn't play his junior year b/c the custody battle between his parents resulted in him moving during the season so..

Bump. I got attacked for my realistic post and it appears I was correct.
No, you got bashed because you act as though a 12-15 class might as well be number 125.

This is a pretty darn good class. Some posters like you who worship Harbaugh act as though he has the best class of all time, but yet that's only ranked 6, so by my calculations that's only 7 spots higher than ND.

Average class that will not get us over the hump. Same old same old.

You do know our "weak 2015" schedule bad 3 Top5 teams on it and other ranked teams as well...right?

Also, in what world are a 5* DE/LB and 2 Top100 WRs not "impact recruits"???

You seem very foolish

No worries we're going to be outfitting the MLB with an "Enigma" machine. All is well.

A few quick notes on this idiot troll post

1. Our best position in the 2016 class is the OL, not WR

2. Hayes was out nearly as much due to a custody dispute between his parents he was with injuries.......how has "injury prone" Josh Adams worked out so far?

3. 12th-15th is actually not generous, it's the opposite. This class is more likely to finish in the Top10 than it is outside the Top15
(because it may well not be done yet)
