Seems like the admin is always a day late and a dollar short. Decent win today but this program has not progressed. Playoffs are out of the question and we will be lucky to finish in top 12. Harbaugh will have UM in playoffs in 3 years max. We seem to be on the Kelly 10 year plan. Peak at year 3, go downhill for 7.

drunk again ?

Get real. He was at a 1AA school in 2005 and was already at Stanford with an uptrending program when ND hired Kelly and then bolted the next year for the NFL. How would that have helped ND? Who says he would have come anyway?

Hindsight is 20/20 and that's all you're doing here

Harbaugh may have Michigan in the playoff this year

so far Jim Harbaugh has done nothing at UM. He is 4-1 w/ zero signature victories as UM has not played anyone close to their talent level. True test of a coach comes when he is matched against equal or better talent.

He is a good coach if past is any indicator but after beating likes of UNLV, Maryland, NW, Oregon State, let's not anoint him as if he has won multiple championships for Michigan.

NW was ranked 13 coming into the game. Also, it's not just them winning, it is HOW they are winning. Three shut outs in a row against ANYONE is extremely impressive.

They will beat MSU by double digits. As a 49er fan I know that Harbaugh can come in and have a team playing at an elite level very quickly, and he's showing it again.

Completely accurate statement. 3 shutouts in a row is extremely impressive. Especially in today's spread the field and hurry up offenses. I would say the future looks very bright for the Wolverines. I will say beating Mishigan St won't be easy.

College football is getting higher scoring as the passing games continue to evolve and improve. This was the first time a team has 3 consecutive shutouts vs P5 opponents in twenty years.

And you forgot to mention every rule change has done any defense no favors

Come on man you are one of those guys who gets high and low quickly. Le'ts wait until next week and see if they do beat MSU by double digits. once again even if NW was ranked #13 it means nothing. What NW player would play for UM? two weeks ago Georgia was ranked #7 and now they are UN-ranked.

look it is far far easier to improve your team by going with basic fundamental football; just physical football.
If you have seen UM that was the approach Harbaugh took. It is the straight line to success; when you lack the elite playmaker. Players buy in because I each one feels they are in an important role. In a sense
'they are Borg'

I agree completely. Bk is no where near the coach Harbaugh is. If you like 8-4 or 9-3 bk is your man. Harbaugh will be competing with osu in three years, in fact hes got em playing pretty damn good football now. bk needs to swallow his ego and be a head coach(manage the game) but he can't. If he would give up his play calling duties and manage the game maybe he wouldn't make stupid ass decisions when you are down 21-9 and you go for two with 14 min to play

Well sure they could be overrated, but you can only attempt to judge based on current information. Northwestern beat a very good Stanford team and was playing world class defense before their loss today.

You can't just write off the win as if it is meaningless.

Based on how Michigan and MSU are playing THIS YEAR, I will take Michigan at home by 10 points. UM is in the midst of a perfect honeymoon right now, and they feel invincible.

I am more interested in seeing how they fare once they experience adversity, as the ebb and flow of the season will bring some bumps along the way. RIGHT NOW though, they are playing elite football, as much as it pains me to say as a big ND fan and UM hater.

A lot of coaches start off on a high note. I'm not saying JH is going to fail, but we'll have to let it play out to see, not to mention the NFL will probably be knocking on his door the end of every season.

Having the NFL interested in your coach shows that you have a good coach. There are worse problems a program can have.

were 5-1 after just beating the best triple option team in the country who also has the best triple option qb in the country and yet somebody has the nerve to start a thread talking about how we should've gone after harbaugh. i'm guessing Pazuzu hasn't seen our irish play this year

Jim Harbaugh is an excellent coach and I would think most if not all schools would love to have him.

Harbaugh is a very good coach and I think everyone knew he would do well at Michigan. He would have never come to ND, even if we had a vacancy, and he will be back in the NFL in a few years either way. Regardless Michigan is better with him and his recruiting class is already one of the top in the country and some of the best recruits who haven't signed are looking at Michigan, so they may finish in the top 3.

One point though, wins like this show that Michigan is better than people thought but also how overrated teams can get, ie.. Georgia Tech. Also the Big10 is above average in my opinion and you can't really point to one out of conference game this season to prove otherwise. Sparty beat Oregon at home by 3 and Oregon got killed at home by Utah giving up 60... that is the signature win. Michigan will probably beat Sparty by 14 but it won't tell us a lot. Oh and don't underestimate the home field advantage for Michigan, it is one of tougher places to win in all of college football and has been that way for as long as I can remember.

But then we'd have to listen to him talk. He makes Nick Saban sound poetic!

Harbaugh may be one of the best coached in college football but do you really think ND or any other big time program would hire a guy from wherever he came from before Stanford? Michigan only got him because he is an alum and the 49ers are morons.
