season's game.

But I can not shake this feeling of major disappointment from the Clemson game.

Usually a Packer win on Sunday and the work week helps me forget.

but I need this Navy game to get here.

I feel far worse about the Clemson loss than I did FSU last year.

Just beat Navy and move on with what is still a promising season.

Anyone else feeling worse than normal post-loss?

Go Irish!

Me too and I figured out why. Expectations and respect. The Expectations last year were low. ND got hot and all of a sudden was undefeated. FSU was considered by many to be the best if not one of the best in the country. Losing on the last play was a "valiant effort". This year most believed and some still do (me) that ND is better than Clemson and in fact one of the Top 8 teams in the country. Losing on the last play after stinking up the joint is not valiant but rather a "look what happened when ND decided to play" feeling. Turn it over one less time and you probably win the game. Make 1 of the 2 point conversions and you probably win. That's tough but it's Wednesday. Gotta move on. that's why it's hard to go undefeated. Winning is hard and a grind. Losing is easy. And not having the distractions of preparing for another opponent like the coaches and players do makes it easy to dwell.

I liked this post because I think you speak for a lot of us whether we want to admit it or not.

I just hope ND wins this game without any major injuries, and gets ready for USC next week. Two important weeks for Notre Dame in recruiting and the season.
