Not even being tongue-and-cheek!

Brian Kelly and his staff are being humbled by staff of guys that are proving its about the attitude of the program, not always the quality of the athletes. ND is soft and unprepared. Michigan State is tough and they play with attitude. Their kids have swagger.

Say bye-bye to Brian Kelly and pay the price for Tom Herman. The guy is a winner. ND's offense is insanity tonight. They are obsessed with trying the same thing and expecting the a different result.

What an embarrasment to a great history this team is... yet I'll still tune in whenever possible.

Well said. At this point I'm rooting for the Irish to lose every game. The ND Admin will not fire Kelly unless they have a horrific season. His teams are soft and mentally weak

I don't know how hiring him fixes the defensive issues?

Nd has returned to the willingham years where we'd get beat by 38-0 by the likes of Fsu at home

You actually think Swarbrick is going to fire Kelly?

Kelly is Swarbrick's man - he just gave him a 6 year extension

The new standard at ND is receiving a bowl invitation - as long as Kelly can consistently win 8+ games per season, he will have a job for life!

Worst part is that as they mount the comeback they had an opportunity to play this style of football all Game, but instead they played soft and timid, afraid to lose, rather than playing to win... that'd on Kelly.

I believe some of this comeback is MSU defense getting lackadaisical

Safety dropped out into third down and Deshone Easily steps up there and runs for 1st down. Terrible decision to take the sack easily could have lowered his shoulder right behind thw center and ran for a 1st down. ND runs the ball all day with QB draw, but when it's right call, why do It?

Lol... The offense lost this game on the last possession with that third down play. That was a selfish decision by Luke, but why Kiser takes a sack while moving laterally on third down is beyond me.

Also ... ND's comeback attempt was fueled partially by throwing long down field. On the last possession why go back to the shorter routes that hadn't been working the whole game?

Because we have the smartest man in the room-nice punt

Can someone explain how the zone-read running game is supposed to work when the QB never keeps the ball and the RB is given the ball at a standstill position 3-4 yards behind the line of scrimmage....

I am really growing to hate football. I stomached Devine (17 loses in 6 years), Faust, Holtz (30 loses in 11 seasons), Davie, the mess with George O'Leary, Willingham, Weis, and now Kelly's 24th lose in 6 years and three games. We need a change in Defensive Coordinator now. VanGorder is clueless and our defensive backs are lost out there. I'm not sure what Todd is teaching those young men, but it's not working. We need to hire the whole Louisville Cardinals defensive staff. Those men can coach and motivate young men. I am sleepy and tired of watch ND lose every big game it plays anymore.
Devine won a national championship in one of those 6 years....How did you survive that?

I'm not sure if that was tongue and cheek, but Louisville is not ND. If and when another hire is going to happen someone who understand the limitations that is ND should strongly be considered

And the fact that we will continue to tune in is why it will never change. Sad.
I will not watch another ND game this year.I wanted to stop after the Texas game but this one put me over the top. It's four hours of wasted time and upset. No, thank you...I have seen enough already.

True. But compare the "star value" of the ND and Louisville players. ND has a top 10 or 15 recruiting class every year, while Louisville has a whole bunch of 2 star players.

Obviously their coaches have been able to do something with their 2 stars that Kelly and BVG have not been able to do with 3 and 4 and an occasional 5 star player.

How many of those youngmen could get into ND?
How well would coach Kelly do w/o those restrictions?
Coach Kelly will be here at least one more season so he needs to make adjustments. If he fires the DC at the end of the season then he will have to chose someone special that will help him on the "hot seat" season

Stanford .... End of story

1596 said it. Stanford.

A school that has similar academic requirements for athletics as ND does, yet they seem to excel in all sports, including football.

Stanford wasn't always a football school ... but has really taken off with Harbaugh and now Shaw. Probably not playoff quality, but only 1 or 2 losses per year.

So it can be done with the right coaching.

Ok, lets assume the hires a good DC and gets that fixed great. The way Kizer is playing I could see him being the #1 QB in the next draft and if he leaves we'll get the excuse-machine firing on all cylinders again, "He lost his QB, what do you expect."

Again, I expect 10 wins and I don't care who you lost, who your DC is or what holes you have. I only care if you get 10 wins

Because it would also rid our program of his ****ing BFF
BVG.

That alone is so much addition by subtraction.

I really believe not even having a defensive coach at this point might improve the numbers...we are that bad.

I don't "TUNE IN" Haven't for years. DVR the game, check the score. If ND wins I watch It if not I delete. Have been deleting a lot of games since Lou left.

The worst part about this is Kelly.

You should become a Alabama fan as you said to me.
