Best thing to happen for Sam Hartman is guys recently like Brock Purdy and DeVito and Minshew and Zappe being from VERY successful to solid backup QBs in the NFL and then doing well when starter. none have big arms, none are prototype 6-5 tall and none are ultra athletic.

I'm a Niners fan. I just don't get how Purdy lasted till the very last pick and in his 2nd year with no off-season training, as he was recovering from UCL surgery is now the front-runner for the MVP.

He's basically Ian Book, only a more confident passer, and not the same runner. Which is why I felt Book could have a great shot in the NFL, and that he's got the tools, he just needs to process a little quicker or something. Because his arm strength and accuracy is sufficient. And which is why Hartman could also have a great shot to make it, for the same reasons. And he is a more naturally prolific passer than Book. Good pocket presence, confident, good passing ability, and most importantly, he seems very capable of putting up big numbers. Of being a prolific passer, even if he floundered somewhat this past season under our shitty OC.

QB play in the NFL is so bad. Too many teams in the league so OKs and QBs are sub par. Instead of expanding, they should get rid of about 4 teams and improve the quality of the product being put in the field.
