Harbaugh names Barack Hussein Obama as Captain of his football team !

Big wins for Trump Administration today ! 1. The Supreme Court over ruled the lower courts on most of
President's Trump Travel and immigration from the 5 countries without proper vetting.
2. Gorsich, Thomas, and Alieto wanted all the restriction restrictions placed upon the Oresident lifted.
3. Two more real conservative judges appointed to the Supreme Court will really bring America back
Back to a Constitutional Republic !
Trump is on his way to really " Making America Great Again " !

Rgc7...I supported the Executive order, and thought the lower courts interpreting the intent for a religious ban based on selective Trump campaign rhetoric, not only disingenuous, but a very harmful trend of judicial abuse. For that reason, very happy with the SC action today. That said, I think this is simply political posturing and wanting to check off the appearance of delivering on a campaign pledge. Simply put, you don't need this executive order to implement extreme vetting, and we were supposed to have extreme vetting in place by this time.

I agree with you on both points. One , From what I was getting from the news, it seemed that the DHS
Was doing a very good job even with the restrictions by the lower courts on vetting .
Two, I think that the lower courts , were bought, ideologically, by the Liberals and clearly were overstepping
Their bounds.
I can now only hope that the final ruling will clearly define the separation of powers especially those that
Relate to National Defense ?

Just spitballing

1 - I think president Trump was trying control the influx from areas that a lot of people on both sides are critical of.
2 - I think president Trump is finding out he needs a bigger team than what he has now to help him navigate and implement what he campaigned on

Dip,
Correct on both points ! I also think that Trump had to go through a learning process, and I think that
He is learning rapidly as evident by his legal team of outside lawyers that he has recently brought in.
Too bad that there are too many Rinos in both houses especially the Senate.
Trump has a lot of obstacles to overcome, I think that too many people are under estimating Trump, and
If he is as successful as I believe he will be, he will go down in history as one of our greatest Presidents.
North Korea and Syria and Iran will really be very tough problems that he will have to solve.
Mad Dog may just be the guy to get that job done ?

I mean that would be poor people that live in trailers. Do you think the term "white trash" is racist or classist?

I respect the poor white trash who go to all the wars and put their lives on the line while you rich girlyboy lawyers stay at home and make fun of them.
Ok Bodi. I don't have any problems with troops whether they come from poor white, black, brown or yellow backgrounds or a middle class family or a rich family. I was just pointing out that redneck is used more often in a derogatory way against class not race. It may be regional usage. The point is that not everything is racist.

Do you know of many Black Or Hispanic rednecks?

Its not good practice to call my clients names that would be offensive. I am only suggesting that the use of redneck is (1) more used to describe class then race and (2) not specifically limited to white people although it most often is used in reference to white people. I have also qualified my previous statement by stating that it could be a regional usage issue, not sure where you live.

Nebraska
I do know some black rednecks but they don't live in trailers
They embrace the country lifestyle and all the cultures of it
One of them is my grandson's AG coach
So I do get your point but, my objection was to the meaning it was first stated in the above post

And you called them rednecks to their face?
You seem so sensitive about the word "redneck," but had no qualms about using the word "mulatto" earlier in this thread. I suppose you'll defend yourself by stating that the word has a precise meaning, which is BS. The word is rooted in a bygone time when the evils of slavery drove concerns of ethnic composition, and a study of its etymology is extremely insulting. Connotations are actually more important than definitions.

Kurt Cobain used the word "mulatto" and the silence was deafening from the word police. It's not a word that I ever used during my 64 years but it's not a word that is evil because some element declares it to be so. There are other things to get riled up about and this ain't one of them.

Well, Curt Cobain is destined not to utter the word "mulatto" anymore. I remember one time when NYC mayor John Lindsey was on the Tonight Show with Carson and said that the key to winning his election was the "fag vote." He was joking around in a way, but I doubt anyone would use that term anymore...at least not without incurring serious blowback. Times change. You can always deny the justification of a group opposed to a word and call them "some element" with an agenda. A lot of times a lack of sensitivity is just being detached from being part of the name bandied about.

Well, thanks to classic rock radio stations, Kurt will be uttering "mulatto" until the end of time with no effort to erase it from anyone's memory. It's just a word. If the lib music industry don't have a problem with it , then it's a big fat nothing and they should know. They are part of the committee that decides what words are to be used and what words are to be banned.

The word is rooted in defining someone who is not black and also who is not white but a mixture of both, and that was the manner in which I used it.

The manner in which the word redneck was used was completely different.

Yeah, that's a solid point about airwaves allowing Curt to utter "mulatto." Of course, many, many more songs contain the word "redneck." The issue isn't whether the words should be censored, although a sense of survival might prompt one to be judicious in selecting where and when to use that word. So is every word a matter of just oversensitivity by falsely aggrieved parties? Would that extend to the N word or other words that might be delivered to other ethnic or sexually oriented groups (I'm sure you know the ones I'm talking about). Is this all part of what you call "lib" regulation of our language?

How the word is rooted might be regarded as being independent of simply using the word. A lot of people whom you think fit the definition of "mulatto" wouldn't appreciate your usage of the word. I doubt you'd use that word to their face. No doubt you think you might have noble intentions and be intrepid, but in some cases you reap what you utter. Thanks for trying to clear things up for me.

How little you know

I have used the word to someone face when she explain to me she was mulatto.
This is how I found out what the term meant.

She was a beautiful woman and she wasn't offended by the term in any respect.

For those who are offended by the singular term defining half black half white might want to take a cue from her.

Cute story. Even if true, I doubt you'd get the same sanguine reaction if you said the to word to someone's face in various bars in NYC's Harlem, Chicago's South Side, or LA's Watts.

Rather than belabor this issue, can you tell me about your name? Which dead Irish poets do you most admire, William Butler Yeats, John Millington Synge, a parlor pianist like Thomas Moore, Oliver St. John Gogarty etc.?

My favorite is James Stephens,

Oh I know a girl
And a girl knows me
That nobody else shall hear or see
And the owl says what
And the owl says woo

It's all between herself and me
To what says the owl
To woo says I
To what, to wit, to woo
