Gray blew it

You all are insane. I would suggest deleting this whole thread. This guy is a starting cornerback on a defense that played primarily man coverage without a significant edge pass rush all year. His interceptions sealed wins against USC and Penn State. He was is one of 11 in a defense that played for the championship.

It is threads like these that make me wonder if I have anything in common with the Irish fan base.

And he'll probably lock up their WR's like he did most of the year

All those great WRs we played before usc…. He saw one good wr before usc and that we had maybe 70-80 on him

He struggled vs good WRs all year

No it’s not… we played terrible passing offenses this year except usc and Ohio state,,, they abused gray

Ok. U think I am an idiot because I criticize Grays technique. I think you are wrong on sticking up for him.
You think I am a terrible parent. My kids are grown n great people. No psych damage
You think I should go up to Gray n tell him what I think. I think that would be stupid n rude. This is an opinion board. So plead your case with facts and stop calling posters you disagree with perjoratives

You think I am saying Gray lost us the game. I never said that. I said our ineffective offense on series 2 n 3 cost us the game and Freeman said the same thing

Now, Gray has been picked on relentlessly this season. He is a good cover guy but not great. Hopefully someone emerges next year to bookend Moore n strengthen our secondary

You need to chill I am not posting my opinion on f book or X or in a forum that damages the kid. This is an opinion board n players don’t come on here often n don’t give a rats ass what is said here Freeman even says as much that players don’t follow fanbase stuff

So if you can support your position that Gray plays like Morrison or Moore, bring it. Otherwise give your charity in the form of money not words to places that need it

What about the pass rush who not get home all night? What about the non-existent run game (outside of Leonard)? Blaming 1 guy for this loss is simply not correct.

Gray blew it is recognized by Al golden who said “I was wrong to put him in that position. That’s on me”. That clearly says it’s not Grays fault but from a talent n technique pov, gray was not up to the task. No check at Los. He did nothing to help himself. And he got no help So he blew it. Golden blew it.

You have to admit that your emotions come to the surface immediately following a loss, and you typically post something damn provocative…. Freeman was a mistake to benching Leonard, etc…. You also typically follow with less emotion and more rationale, just as you’ve done here. Golden had Gray and the other DBs playing off the receivers too much, apparently trying to avoid the long ball; and he gambled on this play in particular that the DL and his blitz scheme would pressure Howard into an incompletion at best. He was wrong and Gray was left by himself, bit and got beat by an elite receiver and looked bad doing so. It happens.

Only thing I will say is it was not my intention to blame Gray For The Loss. Yeah, sounded that way but we clearly lost the game way before that

Damn the thing about TelX n me is he is not even annoying to me cause he is always so right. It’s like my wife. Always right but I can’t afford to get rid of her n she cooks good n knows im an asshole so it’s all good

I think I need to not post when emotional for fear of being corrected by TelX and viciously bitch slapped by Pennick, who only gives me a pass once in awhile cause he wants to come to my house for holidays

The mistake that was made on third and 11 was not having a safety over the top to help out with Smith who was isolated and we were in man for man coverage
