I’ve seen some videos of Rees going ballistic at Pyne over the phone (while our D was on the field). I didn’t watch much of the game so I was wondering what transpired. ??

Pyne was on the phone in the first quarter with Rees. I think it may have been after the 2nd series when Pyne was playing like a JV QB. I'm not a lip reading expert but it looked like Rees said, "Do your f'ing job! The whole f'ing team is counting on you".... It's all over social media.

Pyne was wetting the bed, came off the field and Rees was pissed. Most life/emotion we have seen over 3 games.

Couldn’t care less about using the F word, but THRILLED to see some fire and “in-the-moment” response. Sometimes kids need a pat on the back. Other times they need a kick in the ass.

Pyne played much better after that. He managed the game well from then on. Tommy was just trying to wake Pyne up and he did !

Marcus did that. He told Tommy to run the dann ball. And to use Chris Tyree more. Tommy even used a fullback. Tommy is learning how to use his petsonell. I believe Tommy is going to be a great one. We will see this Saturday against NC. You have to be patient just like people have been patient with you on life

Well, you obviously have not played team sports -- who gives a rats ass whether he curses or not -- don't know a coach who does not. People said the same about Kelly in his 1st 2 years -- the more he "toned down" his sideline look, the less into a game he appeared to be. Same with Rees -- if a player is playing like shit, it is the coaches job to get in his face. There is nothing wrong with it --
a side note -- I worked practices at B10 school with regularity (I am a former collegiate official -- all schools have local college officials working practices so they can get a feel for how games will be called) -- if I did not hear the big F once, I heard it a hundred times on the field -- players expect it.
Here here, I played multiple sports for many years and officiated for almost twenty years, up to junior college level. Cursing is a part of coaching, period, and chewing a player out is common; some might not like it, but it is part of sport
Become literate. That's exactly what my post says. However, it doesn't fix your mistakes. MF isn't a cusser that I am aware of and he's everyone on here's hero since the day he was hired. If you think swearing alone makes you a good coach, there are 450 million Americans that likely qualify.

No it is not part of 'sports', it's part of a hyper-violent, hyper-macho sport like American football. And it is not normal and standard practice, across the globe, to psychotically berate your players the way it is so completely normal in this country. And it is totally proper and understandable for regular people to be taken aback by it.
Though in this case, it wasn't that bad. After all this is Tommy Rees we're talking about, and he's just not an imposing or intimidating dude at all. That's one of Rees' good qualities, however dopey he may be, that he's not a thug like a lot of football coaches are. May he always remain that way....
That’s a good question. It’s more likely he disappeared after his predictions and statements about this year didn’t come to fruition.
