Coach Kelly isn't going anywhere, my distinguished colleagues !!

Actually the use of the word idiots would be mild in describing some on this forum . We come on this board and watch our team nearly go undefeated with a depleted roster and some numb nuts are calling out coach Kelly for " not winning the big one " whatever the hell that means . Or suggesting that our 32 yr old QB coach should take over for Kelly . So idiots would be an appropriate use of the word and in some cases the use of that word would be being kind .
Whomever would want Brian Kelly gone would be classified as an idiot. ND is as physical as any team in the country. Sometimes you suffer injuries, don't play well or the other team plays better, it does not mean you're not physical.

As a general rule fans are morons. But lately NFL Front Offices and University's have acted like morons firing really good coaches

Thankfully the ND Administration leaves yhe moronic conversations about Brian Kelly to its fan base. And our handful of resident "mixed nuts" do a great job of reinforcing the "fans are idiots" theory.
Why not let people think what they want to think? When someone puts another person down by calling them dumb (idiot) it's to make themselves feel better about themselves. There is no 'making your flame burn brighter by blowing another flame out'. It's ugliness, IMO, and does nothing to raise the value of any post - it degrades the whole.

Very Cool. I did not start playing until 4th grade. I played for the Rams with the cool horns #54 I had long hair--- A young Jack Youngblood. I will have to try and hunt down that photo.
I had no clue back then about football. My write-up at the end of the season stated that I 'opened ten holes' that went for touchdowns. I saw that and said 'that's not much' and an older player said "no, that's a lot".

This was me in fourth grade. I had a better understanding

Wrong...Stanford won the Pax 12 and won the Rose Bowl. Exactly what they did this year. Oklahoma played in the Cotton Bowl against A&M

It's a big game if Brian Kelly loses and it's not a big game if Brian Kelly wins. That's the mentality of the majority of posters.

ND gave MSU it's only loss in 2013. I don't here anyone calling that a big win? As I said fans are basically clueless in every aspect of evaluatng players, strategies, and coaches.

The big wins in 2012 were Oklahoma, Stanford and Michigan St... USC, Michigan and Miami were all down that year.

A win over USC is always a big win. Coach Kelly has the fighting Irish 4 and 2 against USC 4 and 1 against Michigan State. And a 31 to 0 win against Michigan was one for the ages.
Stick that in your Lawyer tobacco pipe and smoke on that SAL !! And a reminder-- Better call Saul starts Feb 12 !

"Flat' "Chip on your shoulder" "Excitement " these are all cute buzz words created by fans and the media.

And why is it only the games that ,ND loses are classified as big? ND went 12-0 in 2012. But the ONLY big game was Alabama? Wins over Michigan, Miami, Stanford and USC were nothing right?

But Stanford was a big game this year right? How could a regular season game versus Stanford in 2015 be big? But not in 2012?

Simple, because as general rule fans are dopes.

It's very simple

USC was a 6 loss team that year
Michigan was a 5 loss team
Miami was a 5 loss team and hasn't been good in ages

Stanford was a big win. ( I think stanford won that game but was given to us)... Stanford crossed goal line about 3 times for the go ahead score.

Oklahoma on the road could be considered biggest win of Kelly's carrier @ ND.

ND is 3-1 against Michigan State not 4-1.
2-3 against Michigan.
We got breaks against USC in 3 of the 6 games (no head coach this year and 2012) (no starting QB in 2 of the 6 games)

Thanks for the correction Rivals50 but I thought you were against posters using excuses for the Irish losing yet you are using excuses for USC for them losing to ND (No starting qb for 2 of the six games) ??? So what is it big fella? Excuses are only good for teams playing the Irish?

This post is confusing I just said all three of those wins were big wins

Plus, it has been pointed out ad infinitum that msu was unranked when we played them and ascended to #3. There was no #3 hype surrounding the game and I believe we were #22. Beating msu was a great win, but no one knew at the time how good msu was..... It belongs on Kelly's big game list, but it's a "postmortem" season accomplishment.....

You grew a lot in one year ! Roids?
Hahahaha! Yeah, I hit that awkward growth spurt early in life. Kids weren't ready to handle my size and speed that year. We walked away unchallenged for the championship. There was only six points scored against our team in all 10 games

Rivalry games are bigger when both teams rankings are high. Let me give you an example.

Beating # 1 southern cal is greatly more significant than beating not ranked southern cal.

If it's your suggestion that the 2005 southern cal game is equal to the ones under kelly's tenure you may want to study up on the use of the word "dope". That game had National Championship implications for both sides.

southern cal has not been to a major bowl since the end of the 2008 season....

kelly's caught them at a vulnerable time for them and has gone a solid 4-2. (The 2014 game was a disaster, but gave us the emergence of Zaire).

I haven't seen one person on this board say that the '12 Stanford game wasn't a big win.

You sunshine pumpers love setting up straw men.

As many of you pipe off about kelly's player development skills the reality check is that to date he has a lower yearly average of NFL picks than 3 of the last 4 regimes and barely out paced weis....

I got this from another post. I'm sure some of these wins were big. Being the only team to beat MSU the last game they met, The 2012 OU game, and the 2012 Stanford game were all big, but these are not good numbers

4-loss teams: 4-4
• 3-loss teams: 3-3
• 2-loss teams: 2-6
• 1-loss teams: 1-4
• 0-loss teams: 0-1

BTW, bodi, thanks for changing the subject line on this thread! It shows your class yet still has some 'chippiness' to it...well played ;)
