Don't get Penn State at all 1 win over Illinois? There schedule is very weak maybe Minnesota upsets them but I can see them staying in the top 10 unless they steam roll everybody to me Indiana at one loss is better then a one loss Penn State.
Illinois now with 3 losses as well

This is simply Deion hate and Dabo loving.
Actually it’s simply your bias. The same bias that won’t call out Lincoln, or acknowledge Kelly’s 10 losses at LSU, or that Chip was .333 after his stint at Oregon, or that Norvell has only one good season..

I don’t think 10 is a bad spot for the first release and it keeps and motivated. It will not stay this way. If ND wins out there is a path to a home game against IU. That would be fun. In-state rival first round.

Does anyone after this still think ND has a path at 10-2? What’s the path your seeing I am not?

Who at 7-8-9-10 goes ahead of them? Indiana? BYU? Tennessee? Notre Dame?

Who?

I would only consider Tennessee.
All of them have better resumes even with a horrible loss to NIU. PSU hasn't beaten ANYONE of substance. Who they loss to is their best positive.
This season I watched Marcus Freeman lose to MAC crappy Northern Illinois in South Bend.

All head coaches have their problems.
Dead horse alert.

Please, hes not called big game Brian for nothing. The guy couldn't win a big game to save his life. As much as I despise Alabama, Im hoping they role his a$$ in Baton Rouge Saturday night.

ZERO path at 10-2

USC should be in the playoff conversation with 5 losses hey? Lincoln Riley is doing a swell job.
The Lincoln Riley buyout is 90 million after this season.

You could argue that in life itself, he’s indeed doing a swell job.

Yes. I’ve already tried to explain some of it to you. I’m not surprised ND is #10.
I think #10 is about right at this point. Win out convincingly and they'll be hosting a game. Moving up a minimum of two spots shouldn't be all that difficult given the other schedules. The NIU loss was awful but the only saving grace was when. Lose that game in October and the playoff is long gone.

It helps that it was earlier in the year, but I think they would still get in even if NIU was the last game of the year.

An 11-1 power school, other than maybe a Big 12 school, is very unlikely to get left out of the playoff.

Lincoln Riley is 41-years-old, he has coached three Heisman Trophy winners, he has guided three teams to the CFB Playoffs, all of this in 8 seasons as a head coach. I did not watch a lot of Riley during his Oklahoma tenure; however, living in so. California, I watch a lot of UCLA and USC, so now I do see Riley a lot. He is an outstanding offensive coach, IMO, obviously, he has had some growing pains at USC.

Why certain posters sit on a couch at home and point at this dude's failures confuses me. He's a top shelf offensive coach.

He's not an offensive coordinator. He's the head coach. You should judge him on that

1st stop lying in a previous post you stated you watch every second of USC football.
2nd Because we are not USC fans and are not invested in his success like you are.
3rd Why are you still here?

LOL@ BYU over ND in the top 10

I see the playoff committee is still putting waaaaaaaay tooooo much weight on W-L record and waaaaaaaay overvaluing the quality of competition in the ACC & BIG12
But they will be the 4 seed if they win the Big 12. So really irrelevant.

He is a well respected offensive mind. His tenure as a head coach has been nothing special. He bolted OU the first chance he had after they announced they were joining the SEC. His time at USC would have to be considered a disappointment given the expectations when he arrived there. Now in the Big 10 USC is an absolute non factor.

Nothing special? Lincoln Riley qualified Oklahoma for three 4-team CFB playoff berths in 5 seasons. What would have been special in his 5 seasons in Norman, Ok.? You tell me.

We should move ahead of IU if they lose to OSU by any real margin.....it its last second heroics, coin toss......Still a few head to heads in front of us and then conf championships......

I can see a path to a 6/7 rating with a home game. But, one game at a time.....FSU is next up....get on them early.....give them zero energy....make them want to "get this over"......

Good job at Oklahoma. But ran away from the sec. And a below average job at SC

That's how

What does this have to do with you being a USC troll on a ND message board?

@ftnfan62 Here’s a good start and all of this isn’t necessary nor does it guarantee a two loss ND in the playoffs.

1) Penn State loses two more
2) LSU beats Alabama
3) Texas A&M wins the SEC. That gives ND a strong card to play to get them in at 10-2. That would mean there are no one loss SEC teams and ND beat the SEC winner.

Each of those could reasonably happen.

Brian Kelly got to the playoff twice. He's won just as many playoff games as Riley. I believe winning a playoff game would have been special not just winning a so so Big 12 conference. Again as soon as he found out he'd have to go against the SEC week in and week out he hightailed it out of there first chance he got.

So qualifying for the final 4 in CFB, three times in 5 total seasons in Norman, is nothing special.

Got it.
