Canion deccomits

As it stands hes a composite 4 star. I believe higher than Greathouse ended up.

He played qb and defense as well.

Fixing technique is very easy.

Being a freak athlete is rare
Nope. As it stands now Greathouse was rated significantly higher.

247 composite overall player:
Greathouse 138
Canion 249

Technique is extremely easy to fix. That would be my least concern of anything coming out of hs.

He doesnt have to start to get playing time number 1

Number 2 there is always injuries, transfers issues etc.

Three, he could easily pass up colzie and any other wr not named Meriweather. James is raw as well
Meriwesther is that damn good? He’s our best guy, and it’s clear?

His vertical was 41" at the last combine he was at. He ran a laser 4.51 and hes over 6'3" with long arms.

All this before his sr year. Hes going to be a combine freak. He's just raw. Hes barely played wr. Hes played qb and all over the field

When he locks into wr with his athleticism Hes going to be a freak if he puts it all together. He's been killing it at 7 on 7s this offseason

This is a tough loss
Hell, a lot of us were excited when he committed because of his huge upside, and its disappointing as hell that he dropped his commitment. No reason to discount his measurables or downplay the impact of this. He was a big win when he committed, and he’s a big loss when he uncommitted. We’re fortunate that Stuckey has recruited this position so well. Hope he’s able to find a comparable talent to take Canion’s spot. But we’ll be fine if not.

Thanks for being a voice of reason here Telx!

I'm excited when any WR verbally commits. Again. Any WR.

And Notre Dame has quite a few WR's on the depth chart to be currently excited about, and also arriving in 2024, including Cam Williams and Micah Gilbert.

This kid's decommitment is simply business as usual.

Next.

Fixing technique is easy?

No.

Fixing technique might be easy. Or it might be that the guy never is able to get off press.

Greathouse was a developed and advanced wr. He's ready day one.

Canion is going to take a ton of time to get to the state greathouse is at now. If he makes it, could he better? Maybe. He also might never be as good as greathouse is now.

That's why the statement he'd get time right away is so inappropriate considering the talent level above him

One thing is for certain of all this

Greathouse can never be as athletic as Canion

Canion has a chance to develop technically. It's pretty easy. Wr technique is not super complicated. Esp to a kid who never has really focused on wr fully.

Once he does he will be hard to stop

"...he will be hard to stop." Reading this, ND is missing out on Randy Moss.

I'm already regretting my decision to empty my ignore list! I figured maybe they've matured, improved etc... lol.
Maybe do some research on this kid or read what the knowledgeable people here wrote. The kid is opening eyes every where he goes. He can name his school
Chase tell us all about the ratings/rankings- if that’s the case, this doesn’t hurt OR are we saying that there are guys that aren’t highly rated (such as the 5.6 ranking on Rivals, same ranking as Teddy) that are big recruits and we should trust the staff on their scouting?

I don't care how coveted and valuable a recruit is...the elite programs "over book" like United Airlines.....ND had better learn how to leverage the larger numbers too...especially in today's NIL and portal world. Too much over-committing to singular recruits who bolt. One thing Charlie Weis had right..."if you're lookin'...we're lookin".

Why I say -- verbal commitments are nice, but mean absolutely nothing.
