Canion deccomits

He may have the highest upside of any wr we signed the last 4 years or so.

He's a freak athlete and should be a top 100 recruit.

He's a big time talent

3 years.... no way. Too talented
Holy shit. If that’s the case, then this loss hurts. No doubt about it.

Go replace him w someone else.

I think Parker is going to have a great year. That may open us up to more options in 4-5 months….

Canion has low floor but higher potential than everyone of those other than Williams. We are building the base of wrs good but need more high end players, game changers. Only cam Williams can be that.
Too bad it took him so long to figure out the schools distance from home.

I just hope you're sterile

Bro, I semi-hate that dude(If I knew him in real life I'd probably really hate him) but his comment was funny AF.

I understand this is probably an under-rated commit and it's kind of a big deal even for a 3* but come'on.

hah

laugh a little.

You hate me cuz you ain't me

Too bad on the decommit, but it sounds like this was a distance from home issue, apparently. Hopefully the staff can find a replacement by signing day.

Three years. Yeah. He plays multiple positions in high school he's lean, he still struggles getting off the press and running option routes.

He is not near the highest upside of the wrs the last three years that is simply wrong.

He's a freak athlete and fast that is projected to develop into an elite level deep threat, given time

He's a three star on two services and barely a four on another.

His offer list is Notre Dame, Stanford, FSU, Cincinnati, and UConn.

So be clear. It's a loss to the class, because we wanted a deep threat but he's not carnell tate, walking in and starting at OSU. Not near it.

Sounds like Lenzy 2.0.

Wrong. Braylon James and Tobias Meriweather have high end talent like that as well. Very similar maybe even more tha williams. But he's better than both at the same age. Higher floor

You are wrong on this. He had the highest upside of probably any wr we've had. Freak type athlete. If you have a good wr coach, which we do, this is the type of kid you can turn into a first rd pick in 3 years.

No chance it takes him 3 years. That's ridiculous. This ain't the Kelly era anymore

He will skyrocket up the recruit ranking his sr year. It already has started.

Hes 249 overall on the composite and a few months ago he was in the 400s.

Highest upside of any receiver we’ve had? Did you actually mean to say that?

Freak type athlete? Everything I can find says he runs a 4.51…

You guys are picking the wrong fight here. This kids recruiting is blowing up. My guess he ends up at whatever sec he wants.
I keep reading that some of us are over reacting. Can anyone show where??? This kid is a loss. ND is still very good. Does anyone disagree that the more competition a team has the better?
Are the big 3 continuing to out recruit ND...yes? ND is recruiting better.

He’s probably going to Georgia Tech but maybe you’ll end up being right and the decent SEC schools will end up offering him.

Nobody is saying it’s good he decommited. We’re just confused as to why you said he has the highest upside of any receiver ND has ever had. Maybe he’ll win the Heisman, get drafted top 10 and you’ll be correct, time will tell.

I never said that. I said he's a stud with tremendous upside

His vertical was 41" at the last combine he was at. He ran a laser 4.51 and hes over 6'3" with long arms.

All this before his sr year. Hes going to be a combine freak. He's just raw. Hes barely played wr. Hes played qb and all over the field

When he locks into wr with his athleticism Hes going to be a freak if he puts it all together. He's been killing it at 7 on 7s this offseason

This is a tough loss

Nailed it. His original commitment thread 3 months ago had a whopping 8 comments, none from Chase and Co. Amazing how this guy became a gap closer and best WR commit in 4 years once he looked elsewhere.

LMFAO.

And now we get “...this hurts...” and “...this is a tough loss...”

Grow a pair.

I'm already regretting my decision to empty my ignore list! I figured maybe they've matured, improved etc... lol.
Maybe do some research on this kid or read what the knowledgeable people here wrote. The kid is opening eyes every where he goes. He can name his school

Again. You are projecting. As it stands he's a three star, that plays four different positions and has to learn the nuance of the wr spot.

7 on 7 means very little. No press man coverage with no help over the top he does well. Shocking

Players like Canion are gap closing types of talent. Just look at the studs that ND has failed to close on under Freeman..... Dante, Keon.....etc. Those are the players that change programs.
If you think ND is a better team losing that top end talent then I don't know what to tell ya
There is a big gap between your ears.

Just to play devil's advocate here. If he comes who's he starting over?

Cause that's where he'd be, he's 190 lbs and bad press technique he won't be on boundary starting out..

Meriwether? No. Not for two more years.

Then you think he's gonna pass braylon James?

Lol.

He doesn't have the bulk or press ability to play boundary right now. So he's not beating out colzie. Think he's gonna beat out greathouse?

Seriously where is he going to beat someone out to play inside three years.

He's not big enough for boundary and won't be for two seasons most likely.

He's not good enough right now to beat out Meriwether.

He's not a slot but would be third there right now too.

I think this kid is going to be really good. But he's not as good as what we have RIGHT NOW. ANd won't be really competing for two years

We have plenty of options to fill the deep ball need once we need a new starter. Kid was a luxury not a need.

Technique is extremely easy to fix. That would be my least concern of anything coming out of hs.

He doesnt have to start to get playing time number 1

Number 2 there is always injuries, transfers issues etc.

Three, he could easily pass up colzie and any other wr not named Meriweather. James is raw as well

As it stands hes a composite 4 star. I believe higher than Greathouse ended up.

He played qb and defense as well.

Fixing technique is very easy.

Being a freak athlete is rare

Can the football program survive this loss?
