Buchner

Yep, Hartman starting is no brainer…. Buchner had no competition only having to beat pyne out…. Now with minchey and Hartman then carr he’ll either have to learn how to throw accurately or get passed up
No chance it's a no brainer

I left the game worse off on Buchner than before

His inaccuracy and poor decision making were alarming. Buchner didn’t start looking good until we were able to run it for about 10ypc

People aren’t realizing how bad that SC D was with over half their starters and other key reserves out

I don't know SC so well. But his is a good point if true. I also get the sense Buchner playing like this against a good never mind elite teams will result in some losses.

This reminded me of the North Carolina game in some ways, as they had a poor defense.

People are overrating Hartman so much just due to stats. Probably never watched him play. Not evaluating him on talent and in our offense

If you just look at stats Pyne threw 22 TDs in 10 games and threw over 63 percent. If people didnt wat h theyd be sayong we should look at a kid like him in the portal

Hartman isnt some elite talent.

The bigger discussion no one is having is offensive potential under Buchner.

If we average 20-30 pts like with Pyne, we are going 8-4 maybe 9-3.

Averaging 30-34 points like with book or coan we are a playoff team.

With a QB that can facilitate the run the way Buchner does and get 200-300 passing yards ND can average 35-40 points. It's a significant difference, that is only possible because of his dual threat nature. Can we take that next step... That is what the coaches see.

Will he throw picks? Yup.
Will he have lower completion % most likely.

Will he offset with chunk runs? Yes
Will he score more pts? Likely
and win more? Again most likely.

There is no doubt that Rees and mf see this. It's about manufacturing chunk plays to get points.

As discussed on many threads, this comes full circle to: was what Buchner did positively against SC representative of what he'd do against good teams, particularly those with good defenses?

I am not sure.

This ☝️☝️☝️☝️

But...

I left the game exactly where I was on him.
He's nearly as inaccurate as Wimbush but he's one hit...or stair steps on campus away from injury.

His arm strength is on par with Pyne and Book.
As in not really strong

He's quick. I give him that

The coaches saw one thing.

His quickness.
He's very fleet of foot.

A QB like that is tough to defend. Very tough to defend.

But...
Not impossible to defend and there will be times his arm will have to win the game.

That's the problem. Not strong. Not accurate whatsoever.

He’s going to improve…they need to make sure he knows what color Jersey to throw it to!

You know he started and played most of the game vs Marshall

Your using hyperbole when you say Tyler has no accuracy what so ever.

*** Tyler led the Irish to 559 yards--most yards in a bowl game ever !

Tyler ran for 2 tds and threw for 5 tds ! ( 3 of the tds for the Irish and 2 for South Carolina)

Hartman is a slam dunk for the Irish to start next year ! He has thrown for 39 tds and 35 tds in a season with far less talent than Notre Dame !

Of course your handle is named after a turnover machine so you are a big fan of throwing two pick sixes in a game !:):):):):):) (six smile emojis for fans of pick sixes)

Oklahoma had like 600 vs us last year … vs our great D

With a poor OL, green wrs and a flat team

If you watched that game and didnt see big potential in this offense, that's on you

I'm not surprised though. A lot of your takes are awful

Flat team , thank you, who was that on

No I didn’t see potential vs Marshall, I saw easy passes missed and pick 6

We play all crappy defenses next year until Ohio state

Accuracy can be improved

Period

Next
LOL...

And one more time you engage in football talk armed with your vast knowledge courtesy of Xbox.

Allow me to help you...
AGAIN..

There are things you can polish. Footwork as example, is one. Body mechanics is one. Holding a ball at the ear or not....
Quick release without worrying about a laces grip...

Etc etc...

But...

Accuracy is NOT one of them. It's a sense of feel and touch.

The above things can help polish accuracy but you can't make someone inaccurate to be threading the needle.

Arm strength. Again you can polish things to get an extra mph or two. An extra few yards on a deep pass but...you can't make someone have a canon who doesn't.

Just like speed...you can polish running...stride, starting, cutting, footwork etc...
But you can't make someone fast who isn't.

There're things god given that no matter the coaching said player is blessed with certain traits or they aren't.
Accuracy
Arm strength
Speed
Jumping
All things that can be polished but make no mistake you can't make someone have the above traits who doesn't.

HOW DO YOU IMPROVE ACCURACY ?
Improve your footwork first and foremost

Experience and Film study. The more prepared you are and the more you know where to go with the ball the more accurate you will be

Those 3 things right off the top of my head all helps improve accuracy

Yes last night definitely potential…. But I saw a qb last year and this year that can’t make easy throws consistently

Why don’t you just admit that you really don’t know what you’re talking about.

Studying film does NOT improve accuracy !

When you don’t know the answer to a question you should remain silent.

So please, STFU !

Studying film does NOT improve a QB’s ability to throw the ball more accurately.

Only a total moron who knows nothing about football would claim that studying film improves accuracy !

You’re beyond dumb, you’re incredibly stupid.

But since you insist with your absurd premise, tell us, HOW does studying film improve the QB’s physical ability to throw the football more accurately ?

The more you know your offense and know your opponent the more confidence you have. You know where to go with the ball pre snap. You get confused less. You know what to expect from a defense the more you study

Theres a reason QBs put countless hours in the film room. Having that knowledge helps you out so much.

Understanding your offense and your opponent is huge in helping a QB

STFU AND TRY TO FIGURE OUT THAT COMPLICATED PYLON SITUATION

HAHAHAHHA

Difference is none of them had horrendous arm throwing mechanics…. Footwork isn’t his issue, it’s this pushing shotput sidearm motion.

I agree film helps, but not hitting broad side of barn due to mechanics is another thing
