Last nights loss seem to me like a return to our bad times. What happen to the running game, and if their loading the box throw it. Horrible play calling and no sense of urgency.I'e said it before I'll say it again i think Kelly has taken this team as far as he can.

While I can't disagree with you 4 and 8 to 9 and 3 in the playoff hunt till the last week of the season everyone would have signed up for that.

I don't care who's the coach, player, or what our record is I will always be a fan bc that's what we are fans. I know and we all know with our schedule it's going to be near impossible to win a natty in this era it doesn't mean you don't shoot for it. On the other hand let's not go up in arms when it doesn't happen. Give me 9+ wins every year and I'll take my chances we get a break here and there and shock everyone.

The pressure is going to be on next year bc we will have a high preseason ranking so if Kelly tosses out and 8 win season he's gone.

An we are back to square one.

Pure nonsense. Kelly is like the wife abuser who promises he will never do it again, and everyone sighs and says; ok, you can come home; but you do it next time and you are out. Has anyone watched the last 4 games? A total descent into hell. There was a shot of Adams last night sitting on the bench all alone, staring off into a void; a total look of noninvolvement on face. Hurt?? I don't know. Wimbush was pathetic last night the commentators pointed out how many times he was throwing behind his receivers, or into the ground. It goes on and on. The D held for awhile last night, then the landslide began with the easy pick. I don't care, Lincoln kept firing his generals until he found someone who could fight. ND needs to do the same.

MMboys07, ouch! What an analogy! I get what you're saying, although I don't agree 100%. From Wake on, the Irish certainly have not matched their performance up until that game. I thought the same thing when I saw Adams. I don't know what he was thinking but he sure didn't appear to be "into" the game. But I could be wrong. Wimbush WAS the running game last night. He missed some receivers to say the least and must improve for the Irish to take the next step forward. The defense played well but the turnovers put them in a bad spot and we all know what happened then. It was interesting to hear Herbstreit state over and over how great Wimbush looks in practice making ever throw and then in the games he continues to struggle. If Wimbush and the coaches can figure that out, the Irish will compete big time next year. If not, the Irish will be limited in their success.

Well; The Wimbush "gap"; the difference between his practice performance and game performance, is nothing more than a reflection of his inability to calm his nerves during the game. Not all athletes can do this. It is not a knock on him as a young man; nor a predictor of how he will turn out in life. I can give another analogy, from my own experience: I play a lot of tennis tournaments. While practicing I can hit a dime down the lines; an inch in. During matches however, a lot of my down the line shots are just an inch wide. It is nerves. I am just not as loose during actual matches, therefore I have to adjust my approach to account for this. Wimbush, what can he do; either you step up in games or you don't.

To throw it you need a QB that knows how to throw the ball. This QB is terrible he can't hit a receiver when there is no one within 10 yards of the receiver.. He is another Evert Golson that would go nowhere..

Kelly is 0-4 at Stanford. You signed up for that? Come on. Kelly crushes the Average Joe’s and can’t for the life of him win a big road game. It’s time to move on and get a coach who can at least have ND respected again.

Your tennis game sounds a lot like mine, though I like to blame it on the wind, even if I'm playing indoors.

I do have to say one thing in my defense. I am 67 and I always play the 45s, and lower. The younger players these days hit with a ton of top spin, which is always kicking high with acceleration, so I am just a wee bit behind the ball, sending my down the line shots off target. My practice partner is my age and we both hit with classic strokes. Why do I play down? I have been blessed with great health and I can still run like hell; and it is fun giving those young guys a run for their money. And, of course, the wind is a problem with me too; indoor or out!

When exactly were the good times? 1993 is the last I recall.
