First of all Trump was not Even close to my first choice when the nomination process began.
However, I tried to listen carefully to all the issues debated,and As the Republican debates moved on,
I had narrowed my choices to Cruz and Trump. I favored Cruz, tried to vote for Cruz in the Primary
here in Arizona, but since I am a registered as an Independent , I was not allowed to vote in the Republican
Primary.
Once Trump won, I had a choice between Hillary and Trump, and the issues that they were running
on. Both candidates certainly had character faults, but Trump had a platform that I liked and Hillary did not.
So I voted on the issues.
As far as Trump's personal Moral Life goes, I had to agree with the Evangelicals on their thinking on this matter. We are not electing a Religious Leader. Another thought also came to mind: " Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
I was certainly never a Saint in my Life, so I was and am not in a position to cast stones !
Why do I like Trump as our President :
1. Right to Life. He promised to get Pro Life , Constitutional Judges like the late Judge Scalia on the Supreme Court. He also made a big move toward cutting funds supporting Abortions to foreign nations.
2. He will strengthen our Military. Extremely Important. I fought in Korea and know how many lives were
lost because when the North Koreans invaded, the first troop that we sent in were " Under armed and not
combat ready. They were thrown to the wolves and slaughtered. Don't want to go into the whole history
of that war, so I'll move on.
3.Lower personal and corporate income taxes. Absolutely !
4.Repealing Obama Care and giving more power to the States.
I don!t want to go over all his platform, but if he can deliver, we will be a much stronger country.
As far as Trump's tax returns go, that is between the IRS and Trump's accountants , and in my view
it is a minor Issue and a distraction from the much larger issues that Trump was elected to resolve.
You are certainly entitled to your views, but you have posted me, therefore, I have tried to answer you
as honestly and as straight forward as I can.
