ND as now firmed up the dates for the Syracuse and BC games.
Really dislike playing three teams from California.…and UNLV….and BYU in the same season. That’s a hell of a lot West exposure and two long traveling away games.ND as now firmed up the dates for the Syracuse and BC games.
How do season tickets work? I put in $250 and get tickets for all games or is it just the right to a lottery? When do tickets go on sale for the game in Las Vegas?

lololololMy biggest gripe is playing Marshall and UNLV in the same season. I recognize that we play OSU, Clemson and USC, but playing two schools of the caliber of Marshall and UNLV is a mistake, IMO.
But the balance due is not $250? Its $250 plus another large number? And then there is no resale above face value, correct? I mostly just want a good ticket for the BYU game.If you are buying season tickets, you do not go through the lottery. You will get the season tickets, assuming that you pay the balance due. I believe tickets for the BYU game will go on sale sometime next April or May.

Understood. Thank you.No, the balance due for season tickets will not be $250. It will be a significantly higher number. If you are just interested in BYU tickets, my suggestion would be to try to get them directly from ND next spring (if they go up for public sale) or to try someone like Stubhub or Vivid Seats. Tickets to a single game from Stubhub or Vivid Seats will be much cheaper than buying season tickets.
Agree, means 1 loss could be a playoff killer; especially if as like ‘21 it is to a playoff team. Clemson may be a 3-4 loss team and USC will be a team of 1st and 2nd year players and a 3-5 loss team.My biggest gripe is playing Marshall and UNLV in the same season. I recognize that we play OSU, Clemson and USC, but playing two schools of the caliber of Marshall and UNLV is a mistake, IMO.
Geezus why not add the 85 Bears and the Chiefs? You can't play a juggernaut every week.My biggest gripe is playing Marshall and UNLV in the same season. I recognize that we play OSU, Clemson and USC, but playing two schools of the caliber of Marshall and UNLV is a mistake, IMO.

You can't play top 25 teams every week and expect to win every year or survive the season for that matter. ND is one of the only schools in the country that plays an all FBS schedule.

I think the biggest part of that was the loss to Cincinnati -- we ended up # 5 when all was said and done. ND finishes 12-0, they are in over Cincinnati. Hell, an 11-1 ND is on over Cincinnati -- IF ND would have taken care of business.
As far as UNLV/Marshall -- based on scheduling availability, they may have been the only options -- other than not playing. And Truthfully, not not I want another mid power-house after opening with Ohio State. Hell, look at this year after opening with FSU -- everyone thought ND would walk all over Toledo -- they barely pulled it out.
It is risky but we have to weigh the decision of incurring a second loss. Play a tougher schedule that gets more recognition but creates a higher chance of a second loss thus knocking us out of the playoffs, or play a more typical schedule that we probably need to go 12-0 but still have a chance at 11-1? I’d take the latter. We’re still playing 8 Power 5 teams and BYU is like a Power 5. Alabama played an FCS, New Mexico State (like an FCS), Southern Miss (3-9) and Miami (7-5). Pretty soft if you ask me.Obviously, losing to Cincinnati was a big blow to our chances. We are always going to get in at 12-0. The problem arises when we are 11-1, like this year. Even though we won 11 games, we had no real quality wins. Our best win was Wisconsin, which went 8-4.
Let's say we start off next year with a loss to Ohio St., and then win our last 11. Are you willing to rely on wins over Clemson and USC to take us to the playoffs? Remember that Clemson was 9-3 this year and USC was 4-8. That's a risky venture, if you ask me.

Not having a conference championship is our biggest detriment.
I guess it comes down to personal preference. A tougher schedule increases ND’s chances at a playoff birth at 11-1 but also increases our chances of 10-2 or less than that and basically eliminates ND.My entire point is that, because we are not playing a conference championship game, we need to play a tougher schedule. We have seen that going 11-1 against a mediocre schedule doesn't cut it.
Comparing our schedule to Alabama's is a futile endeavor. Notre Dame needs to be concerned with its own schedule, not with Alabama's schedule.
If we were 11-1 and the 1 were any other team on our schedule, we would be in. Ohio St and Clemson will be conf champion level teams. BYU just missed an NY6 this year. BC, UNC, and USC could be solid teams. Marshall, Cal, Navy, UNLV should be layups. Never know what you’re going to get from Stanford.
No ND was left out because they lost to the team who was #4 at home. It’s really that simple.Did you not see what happened this year? We were left out of the playoffs in large part due to our schedule. Because we do not play in a conference championship game, we need to play a tough schedule.

Yes, it is that simple. We beat Cincinnati and we are in the playoffs regardless of our schedule.No. It's really not that simple. Our schedule worked against us. We had no quality wins.
Both are correct. Yes we are in the playoff with a Cincy win, yes the committee might have been able to overlook the Cincy loss if we had another couple Top 25 wins.Yes, it is that simple. We beat Cincinnati and we are in the playoffs regardless of our schedule.
Wisconsin and Purdue were both quality wins.
Oh thank you oh wise one......Both are correct. Yes we are in the playoff with a Cincy win, yes the committee might have been able to overlook the Cincy loss if we had another couple Top 25 wins.
You people are arguing stupid semantics.
Wisconsin and Purdue were both quality wins.
Actually quite a few would. Not a lot of folks would agree with you.

I think you really overestimated the likely results for the Pac 12 teams next year. Cal has not had a winning record in years. Stanford and USC both lack talent. NDame has its usual tough schedule but the Pac 12 teams do not add much. BYU might. None of them at Utah or Oregon level. You can't play top 25 teams every week and expect to win every year or survive the season for that matter. ND is one of the only schools in the country that plays an all FBS schedule. Only way your idea works is if you sprinkle some FCS byes into the season. Then you can add 7 or 8 top 20 teams. SC will be 9 win team. Stanford will be an 8 win team. Clemson and Ohio State will win 10 or more. BC will be an 8 win team. Marshall is a bowl team most years. UNC will be an 8+ win team. BYU is a Power 5 level team. They will be an 8+ win team. CAL will be bowl eligible type teams in the PAC 12. Only really horrible team is UNLV. Maybe Navy. Syracuse is typically meh.
BYU as good as your average P5 team? That’s inaccurate, they are ranked #12 higher than any team on 2021 or 2022 schedule besides Oh St. They beat #10 Utah and USC this year. It’s a great match up and they will out number ND fans 70/30 in Vegas- spread won’t be more than 7. It’s a great schedule - 10/12 teams are legit and if Freeman wins 9 games it’s a great year.We play 4 non Power 5 teams, one of which is BYU who is independent and about as good as your average Power 5 team. Navy has been decent over the last 15 years. I don’t see much of an issue with the schedule. OSU and Clemson offsets any issues, IMO.
What if Sanford, VA Tech, UNC, FSU, USC lived up to hype and past expectations? This schedule when built was plenty to get ND into the playoffs, but the best team ended up being the one you likely griped about when scheduled. How do you suggest ND strategized around future strength of opponents? That Clemson game could be worthless next yearNo. It's really not that simple. Our schedule worked against us. We had no quality wins.
I said Bowl eligible type team. That’s 6-6. That’s too much of a stretch for you? USC will be raiding the portal. I think you’ll be surprised how good they are and how fast it happens.I think you really overestimated the likely results for the Pac 12 teams next year. Cal has not had a winning record in years. They had a good year no doubt. Will they be that good next year? I’m trying to say ND doesn’t have that bad of a schedule and saying BYU is basically a Power 5 team..not saying they would only be average in a Power 5 or even the opposite (that they’d be in the top tier). Just that on a yearly basis they’re about as as good as your average power 5 team — meaning I don’t count them as a slouch from the smaller conferences or like a Duke.BYU as good as your average P5 team? I agree. With Marcus as coach we can't be beat by anyone. I say we replace Marshall and UNLV with Alabama and Georgia. Lets play the best every damned week !My biggest gripe is playing Marshall and UNLV in the same season. I recognize that we play OSU, Clemson and USC, but playing two schools of the caliber of Marshall and UNLV is a mistake, IMO.
