Football ***GAME THREAD: No. 10 Notre Dame 52, Florida State 3 (Final)***

I've made my way into the warm press box at Notre Dame Stadium, so let's get the game thread for Notre Dame-Florida State rolling.

We will use this game thread as the primary home for game commentary from now until after the game. We have some rules we'll ask you to follow, which will be included below.

If you're not following the rules and do not respond well to reminders, we'll remove you're posting privileges for the rest of the day. We have too much to do today to argue about it during the game. This doesn't happen often as we're pretty lenient in the game thread, but please keep that in mind.

Our game thread rules:

1. Use this thread until the end of the game for ongoing game commentary. We'd like to keep the conversation in one place. If something from the game merits a separate conversation of substance, go ahead and start another thread for that topic. When in doubt, post in the game thread.

2. Criticism of decision-making by coaches and players is allowed. But please avoid making it personal. Don't be malicious. Remember, that person's mother could be reading your post. If you cross the line, you'll lose posting privileges for the day.

3. Don't be a doofus. Have some respect for your fellow subscribers.

Basketball MBB: Grad transfer Matt Allocco shows fit in Notre Dame's opening win

Notre Dame's starting guard trio of Markus Burton, Braeden Shrewsberry and Matt Allocco combined for 46 points in ND's 89-60 win over Stonehill on Wednesday night.

Allocco, a grad transfer from Princeton, scored 10 points by making all of his shots, added three rebounds, a couple of assists and a steal without a turnover in 25 minutes of his Irish debut.

Poor Coaching

How does NIU look so good against us and Western Michigan (MAC leader) and is inconsistent/mediocre in the rest of the season? The answer is good athletes and poor coaching. Witness Faust in the ‘80’s, Willingham and Weis in the the 2000’s, Hoke at Michigan, Norvell at FSU, and even Kelly at LSU. I could go on and on.

*****Update long time ND poster NashND has passed*****

Longtime poster and ND fan @NashND ihas been battling neurological issues since August of '21. As his condition worsened and really seemed to accelerate in recent months, a EMG a few weeks ago indicated the worst case scenario, ALS. He is in for one hell of a battle, but he plans to fight it head on despite the odds. But this disease is not a sympathetic one, and there are going to be a large amount of costs that insurance won't cover,

Here is a link to the thread where he tells us of finding out he has ALS, and a link to the Gofundme his sister set up for him. I copy and pasted what NashND wrote himself to explain what the gofundme will be used for in his own words. Let's do what the MB does best and help out someone who truly needs it.

This was originally posted on the Main Board by a OSU fan a month or so back. Since it’s OSU week he asked that we repost it on here as he’s doing the same on his home board to get donations to help Nashnin his battle against ALS

And if you are on other ND boards where they remember Nash from their time here please share
