Jordan Faison has a chance to make NCAA history...

I have only found three Division 1 college athletes who have won NCAA championships in two different sports: Anthony Munoz of Southern Cal (football & baseball); Bob Rule of Cornell (hockey & lacrosse); and Jared Mitchell of LSU (football & baseball). Now that he has a lacrosse national championship on his resume, if ND wins the national championship during Jordan Faison's football career, he will enter a select fraternity... ☘️ 🥍🏈☘️

Statement from Notre Dame president Rev. John Jenkins on House v. NCAA settlement

Statement from President Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., on House v. NCAA settlement

“The settlement, though undesirable in many respects and promising only temporary stability, is necessary to avoid what would be the bankruptcy of college athletics,” said University of Notre Dame President Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C. “To save the great American institution of college sports, Congress must pass legislation that will preempt the current patchwork of state laws; establish that our athletes are not employees, but students seeking college degrees; and provide protection from further anti-trust lawsuits that will allow colleges to make and enforce rules that will protect our student-athletes and help ensure competitive equity among our teams.”

Recruiting 2026 QB target Brady Hart on his recent offer from Florida State

Notre Dame's been considered a top contender for a pair of 2026 quarterbacks: Brady Hart and Noah Grubbs.

I've predicted that Grubbs will end up in Notre Dame's class, but it's worth monitoring Hart until one of them makes a decision first.

Hart received an offer from Florida State yesterday and Nick Carlisle (@nrcarlisle) from our Florida State site caught up with him.

Q: You're big on some other schools like Florida and Notre Dame right now, but does the FSU offer shake up your recruitment at all?

A: "It definitely shakes things up a little bit. Definitely need to keep doing my due diligence with the process with other schools but yes - it definitely shakes up the recruitment."

Hart also had this to say about his relationship with Notre Dame:

"That staff is awesome. High praise for that staff, they definitely are a great program. We're not locked in with anything yet and we're checking everything out but they have a great staff."

Recruiting How 2027 QB prospect Trae Taylor handles early interest from colleges

2027 QB Trae Taylor will be back at Notre Dame on June 2 for Irish Invasion to show his development.

“I like to come out here and show that I can spin the ball and that I have more velocity than a lot of these kids,” Taylor said. “That’s not something I’m trying to prove to them. That’s just something I want to show them. They haven’t had any doubt with me, so I’m not going to have any doubt with them.”

Notre Dame hasn't offered Harris either, but he was pretty impressive.

OT: Georgia QB Jaden Rashada suing Florida coach Billy Napier and others

Our Georgia site, UGASports, has the details on the lawsuit filed on behalf of Georgia QB Jaden Rashada over a failed NIL deal with Florida. Rashada was supposed to receive close to $14 million over four years from Florida before the deal was terminated.

Some of the details:

• Besides Florida head coach Billy Napier, the other defendants listed in the lawsuit are Hugh Hathcock, Marcus Castro-Walker, and Velocity Automotive Solutions, LLC. The 64-year-old Hathcock is a wealthy, long-time Florida booster who gave an eight-figure donation—the largest in the program’s history—to the Florida football program in 2022. He also ran the former Florida-drive NIL collective, the Gator Guard. Castro-Walker is the former Florida director of NIL and player engagement. Velocity Automotive is a former company in Destin, Florida, owned by Hathcock. Although not listed as a defendant, Edward Rojas was the CEO of another major Florida collective, the Gator Collective, and, according to the lawsuit, “was also deeply involved throughout the effort to flip Jaden [to Florida].”

• In late June of 2022, Rashada committed to the University of Miami, agreeing to a $9.5 million NIL deal with the Hurricanes. According to the filing, Florida soon applied a “pressure campaign” to flip Rashada to the Gators.

• Working alongside Hathcock, Castro-Walker communicated with Rashada’s two NIL agents during the fall of 2022 that Florida would pay the quarterback $13.85 million over four years, or more than $4 million more than what Miami had offered.
