...no longer taking his official visit to Notre Dame. I still feel good about my FutureCast to UGA for him. Talyn and his family have a ton of respect for coach Freeman and the staff but I think the dream has always been SEC ball.

Irish are No. 4 in ESPN's Way-Too-Early Top 25. Texas is No. 6. Duke, by the way, drew the defending national champion, South Carolina, on the road.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For just the third time in program history, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Texas Longhorns are set to face off this fall.

On Wednesday, ESPN/ACC announced that Notre Dame will host Texas in the 2024 SEC/ACC Challenge on Thursday, Dec. 5 in South Bend. The game time and broadcast designation will be released at a later date.

This will be the first matchup between the two Power 5 schools in 27 years as they last faced each other on March 17, 1997 in the NCAA Championship Second Round, where Notre Dame won 86-83. With the overall series split at 1-1, the Irish have played both previous games in Austin, Texas and will host the Longhorns for the very first time this fall.

The Big 12 Tournament Champs, coached by Vic Schaefer, finished 33-5 last year as the Longhorns’ season came to a close in the Elite Eight after falling to NC State.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - ESPN announced its 2024-25 SEC/ACC matchups for the 2024-25 men’s basketball season. Glenn & Stacey Murphy Head Coach Micah Shrewsberry and his Notre Dame Fighting Irish will hit the road for the second consecutive year, traveling to Athens on Tuesday, December 3, to challenge the Georgia Bulldogs. It’ll mark Notre Dame’s first appearance inside Stegeman Coliseum.

Notre Dame and Georgia have squared off four times, with the series tied at 2-2. All four matchups have gone down on neutral floors. The two last squared off on Dec. 18, 2022, in Atlanta, with the Bulldogs taking that one 77-62. The full series with results is listed below.

I know a crazy question but I was wondering if Golden has ever ran any 3-4? Or is he ever would? I’m asking because with guys like Sevillano and Dixon coming up and all the depth at LBer it seems like the opportunity is there to run some 3-4.

Congratulations to Jewel and Jackie for making the US Womens Olympic Basketball team. They are well deserving .
Even though i am not a big fan of Caitlyn Clark, the WNBA made a huge mistake leaving her off the team. Caitlyn Clark is to the WNBA that Magic Johnson and Larry Bird was to the NBA. All three saved or are saving their leagues. The WNBA from what i read has not made money. Clark puts people in the stands, sells merchandise and has more people watching the WNBA on tv or computer. Having Caitlyn Clark on the Olympic team would mean $$$$'s. Its my belief, that Caitlyn Clark right now is the most devastating and scary offensive player in the WNBA. She will eventually be a double double machine and most likely threaten the 30 point scoring level on a routine basis.
In my opinion she reminds me of having a similar affect as Taylor Swift has on the young. The more players that knock her down the more popular she will become. No matter what you think of her, she is one tough basketball player.
Not sure i will watch any of the US WBB, because i scratch my head at the roster and wonder if they will even win the Gold Medal. My attitude would be entirely different if Clark was playing. Her 3 point shooting and accuracy would be deadly on the world stage. Maybe its not to late for her to be on a 3 on 3 team. At the end of the day, leaving Clark off the Olympic team in my opinion was another terrible business decision. Even though two great former Irish players are on the roster. It makes me wonder why Arike did not make the roster. The olympic game is a bit different then their normal games.

Notre Dame men's basketball announced Friday its last two transfer portal additions of the offseason: Monmouth forward Nikita Konstantynovskyi and Lehigh forward Burke Chebuhar. Both are graduate transfers.

Head coach Micah Shrewsberry on Konstantynovskyi: "We are thrilled to be able to add Nikita to our program. In the offseason a major focus for our staff was to identify someone who could help us immediately at the center position, and Nikita can absolutely do that. He is a veteran who can score around the rim, is more than capable when facing the rim, and also is a physical rebounder with good hands. We expect Nikita to be a big part of Notre Dame and our success over the next year."

Konstantynovskyi: "I chose to play for Notre Dame because of the outstanding coaching staff, the wonderful environment, and much more. Coach Shrewsberry’s support has been incredible, and he has shared his and the coaching staff’s intentions regarding how they see me on the court. It’s a fantastic opportunity to represent an institution with such a great tradition."

Shrewsberry on Chebuhar: “Burke is everything that Notre Dame stands for. He is a tremendous student-athlete who excelled on and off the court at Lehigh. I always talk about how I have a chip on my shoulder, and Burke is the same way. Nothing was ever handed to him during his basketball life, and he has made huge strides over the past 12 months. With the help of our player development and strength and conditioning program, we expect him to continue to improve and impact our team in a positive way this upcoming season.”

Chebuhar: "I’m thrilled to join the Notre Dame family and hopefully contribute to its long-standing history and traditions. This opportunity excites me because of Coach Shrewsberry’s vision for the team’s offense – I’m intrigued by their play style and hope that I can complement the team with my experience and skill set. Additionally, I’m pumped to get to work with the rest of the coaching staff and players. I love that the staff is known for player development. How in the hell were Pat and Chris Kavanaugh not placed on the 23-man training roster for the US National sixes team? Unless they both told the national lax coach they weren't interested, that's absolutely nuts.

Marcus Fakatou, a 2028 defensive lineman, reported a Notre Dame offer following his participation in today's evaluation camp on campus.

Yes, that says 2028. Meaning he's heading into his freshman year at Orange (Calif.) Lutheran. But just look at the size of him.

Fakatou is the first 2028 recruit to report a Notre Dame offer. He previously shared offers from Utah, Washington, BYU, Auburn, USC, Arizona State and Arizona.

Our Alabama site, Tide Illustrated, caught up with Notre Dame safety commit Ivan Taylor about his official visit to Alabama last weekend.


As we've reported, Taylor will make an official visit to Notre Dame this weekend. He's also scheduled an official visit to Michigan the following weekend. We'll see if that remains the case after his ND visit.

This would be quite the shakeup for college basketball. If Hurley leaves, college football and men's college basketball would lose national championship winning head coaches to the pros in the same offseason.
