After making her debut on the Midseason Watch List a few weeks ago, Notre Dame freshman Hannah Hidalgo has officially been named to the John R. Wooden Award Late Season Top 20. The award goes to the best player in women's college basketball and is chosen by a poll of national experts.

Max Anderson is a 2024 offensive lineman from St. Paul, Minn., and he'll walk on at ND. He didn't have any FBS offers, but the Irish coaches are excited to have him on the roster for next year.

Obviously, Notre Dame men's basketball isn't going dancing this season, but I got sucked into a Bracketology update from ESPN's Joe Lunardi.

Without looking it up, can you guess how many ACC teams he has projected for the NCAA Tournament field as of today?

Inside ND Sports looks at three recruiting trends closely related to Notre Dame in the Rivals era (since 2002) and how the Irish are on track to break those trends in the 2025 class.

Sections include landing the No. 1 player at their position, signing four-star defensive backs across the board and finishing with a top-3 overall class.

You may have seen some eyeball emojis being shared on social media Wednesday night from Notre Dame's recruiting staffers. Chad Bowden shared some on his Instagram story. Dre Brown and Carter Auman also tweeted them.

I've been told Notre Dame received some good news Wednesday night on the recruiting front. But as far as I've gathered, there's nothing being announced imminently. I don't love the coverage of silent commitments, because you can always claim the next person to commit was the one you were talking about that you couldn't name.

And if you're a silent commitment and you're not making plans to announce it shortly, that holds very little weight.

I'm not going to drop hints on who this is. But I just wanted to make you all aware of it.

AFC Championship: Kansas City vs. Baltimore

Baltimore: S Kyle Hamilton and LT Ronnie Stanley

Baltimore also has C Sam Mustipher on its inactive roster.

NFC Championship: Detroit vs. San Francisco
Detroit: DE Romeo Okwara
San Francisco: LG Aaron Banks

Detroit added TE Brock Wright on injured reserved this week. He joined LS Scott Daly there. The Lions also have OLB Julian Okwara, S Brandon Joseph and DT Chris Smith on the practice squad.

Casey McHugh, who spent the 2023 season as a defensive graduate assistant working with linebackers at Oklahoma State, has announced he will be joining Notre Dame's staff as a defensive analyst.

Prior to Oklahoma State, McHugh spent four seasons at Old Dominion in various rules. He started as a quality control coach working with quarterbacks in 2019. Then he spent two season as a graduate assistant linebackers coach before one season as a graduate assistant safeties coach.

McHugh began his coaching career as a quarterbacks coach at Delaware Valley University in 2018.

As a player, McHugh spent four seasons at Division III Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). He graduated in 2016 with a degree in aerospace engineering.

Inside ND Sports previously reported the addition of Trent Miles as a senior offensive analyst. The Irish have been working to fill some support staff departures this offseason.

Six ACC teams ranked this week, with the Irish the second-highest among them at No. 14. The Irish visit Georgia Tech Thursday night, then host Pitt on Sunday.

Notre Dame freshman Hannah Hidalgo earned Naismith Women's College Player of the Week honors on Monday after her record-breaking 34-point performance in the 82-67 victory over No. 8 UConn in Storrs, Conn. The Huskies fell to No. 11 after the loss.

Notre Dame extended a scholarship offer to 2025 defensive end Javeon Campbell on Thursday of last week. Now the Frankfort (Ky.) Western Hills star plans to visit Notre Dame this Thursday. Campbell visited Vanderbilt this past weekend and received an offer.

He tallied 14.5 sacks as a junior. Rivals has not yet rated Campbell.
