I posted a similar poll on the Main Board. Wanted to see how ND fans differ from a more national (heavily southern) perspective.

tMB has been roughly 27-32% in favor of ND and hasnt moved past that range in either direction. For those looking for discussion from other fan bases here is the link to the thread (but post at your own risk -tMB isnt for sensitve people).

Please help me introduce…

I’d like to formally introduce a new strategic partner coming to our site. We’ve agreed to partner with JFQ lending as our main corporate sponsor and we’re extremely excited to begin the relationship.

JFQ Lending, INC is a residential mortgage company licensed in nearly 40 states across the United States. Even though they opened their doors less than 3 years ago, they already have nearly 3,000 5 star reviews online including nearly 1800 on the Better Business Bureau where they carry an A+ rating (link below).

Long story short, Interest rates on a 30 year fixed are under 3%, with 15 year fixed rates in the 1’s. As an exclusive offer, JFQ will cover any appraisal costs AND add an additional $500 credit for all members. Please reply here, email them at jritter@jfqlending.com or shoot them a private message on the board (@NDMortgageGuy). Check out their website JFQlending.com as well.

DAILY COVID-19 THREAD: Tuesday, December 15

• All thoughts on COVID, statistics, speculation, updates, etc. should be posted in the daily thread.

• COVID threads that pop up separately on the board will be merged into our daily thread — with the exception of sports news items that are related to COVID (school testing updates, announcements, etc.). These can have their own threads but our staff has final discretion.

• As always, political posts – whether in the COVID thread or not – will be deleted.

As the Irish prepare for the ACC Championship meeting versus Clemson this Saturday, 191 tests of players through Sunday produced only one positive test, and nobody is in quarantine.

OT-God is Good

Had to bring some positive news to the board this morning. My one year old nephew was born with a hole in his heart last year. The doctors refrained from doing surgery at the time in hopes that it could heal itself and close. Months went by and while progress was made, it seemed the closure had plateaud. It was looking like it bought him some time and ability to develop a bit before needing to have surgery, but it was still likely he would need to have it eventually. He just had his visit with the cardiologist today and the hole is now effectively healed up. The doctor said it should be fully closed within the next couple months and he now will never need to have surgery.

I’m in tears as I write this. Couldn’t be more thankful that our prayers have been answered. In a year filled with so much fear, illness, death and overall negativity, this is a huge win for our family. Feel free to add any other positive news happening in your world so I don’t hog it all. God is good.

UNC vs ND and Miami, Compared- Geek Stats

Edit- Sorry. This didn’t format well.. I’ll try and fix it

Every game is different, no doubt, but do you want to know how good your team is? Consider the following:

At the end of November, ND went on the road to then #25 UNC where they hadn't lost all year at home and beat a team that was supposed to give them some problems because of their explosive offense. Not only did ND prevail, but they shut out UNC in the 2nd half.

This week, now #19 UNC went on the road to take on #10 Miami and absolutely throttled them. Here are some statistical comparisons:

UNC On Offense

UNC vs. ND - Miami

1st downs. ND 14. - Miami 31

3rd down eff. ND 2-12. - Miami 6-11

Total Yards. ND 298. - Miami 778

Passing. ND 211. - Miami 224

Rushing. ND 87 - Miami 554

Time of Possess. ND 24:56. - Miami 40:19

Sam Howell. ND 63%. - Miami 74%

Just to throw a handful of salt on this wound, Sam Howell caught a TD pass from Rontavius Groves, a UNC wide receiver, to open the 4th Q. Groves was 1-1 (100%) for 1 yard and 1 TD. As of now, he does not have enough attempts to qualify for the league lead in completion percentage. That was a little bit of sarcasm.

UNC Defensively (allowed)

TotalYards. ND 478. - Miami 314

Passing. ND 279. - Miami 239

Rushing. ND 199. - Miami 75

Yards per rush. ND 5.5. - Miami 2.8

QBs. ND Book 70%. - Miami King/Van Dyke. 56%

UNC scored 28 2nd half points against Miami, 21 in the 4th Q alone.

The best part of the UNC/Miami game? The Turnover Chain did not make an appearance.

My point? Your Irish are pretty damn good. On both sides of the ball.

In the immortal words of @surfrider619
Couldn’t happen to a finer team outside of Ann Arbor.

Recruiting Notre Dame Offers Michigan State RB Commit Audric Estime

Busy day for news.

*** Source on the Notre Dame side of things tells me that the Irish have offered Michigan State running back commit Audric Estime. The offer went out this afternoon. As I've been saying for weeks, I expect Estime to flip to the Irish, but the timing is up in the air. Estime would like to visit Notre Dame before making a decision, which would force him to skip this week's signing period and sign in February. But at the same time, I'm told Estime would like to get this out of the way and sign this week. My guess is he'll choose the latter. As of writing this, Estime is unsure of what he'll do.

*** Donovan Edwards has not given Notre Dame word that he's not coming, but there's a growing sense that he won't be choosing the Irish. From what I've gathered, the Notre Dame coaches just couldn't wait any longer to offer Estime, especially with Logan Diggs being torn between LSU and Notre Dame, per sources. I'm also hearing that Diggs may wait until February to sign.

*** There is just a lot on the table right now. Notre Dame could sign Diggs and Estime on Wednesday. Or they could sign zero running backs. Notre Dame running backs coach Lance Taylor and Co. are working hard on this today.

Recruiting On Prince Kollie

When the Clark Lea news broke a couple hours ago, my feeling was that there was nothing to worry about with Jonesborough (Tenn.) David Crockett linebacker and Notre Dame commit Prince Kollie. My vibe is that Nick Lezynski has a very good chance to take the LB job and with just two days from NSD, Kollie wouldn't look elsewhere and lock in with the Irish.

Well, it's not a done deal currently. There is some dialogue between Kollie's camp and other schools right now, but I feel it's more of a backup plan. I'm expecting Lezynski to be on a call with Kollie today to work things out. I feel that the Irish will be ok in this recruitment and sign Kollie but there is some work to be done here.

Kollie seems shaken up, but I still believe he will sign with ND.
