I really wouldn't put too much weight on anything a coach says to a sideline reporter. But to answer your question: that the starting QB isn't good/talented enough and is a game manager not a playmaker."Just want to play within the offense. We don't need anything spectacular," Freeman said to NBC sideline reporter Zora Stephenson. "Do exactly what your coaches tell you to do, play within the game plan and the rest will take care of itself. If we start trying to make plays and throw the ball down the field, then all of a sudden we're playing out of character. Just do exactly what we want you to do and the rest will take care of itself."
Not at that point of the game you don't. Bad play call. Even worse throwIt was the perfect look. You gotta take the shot.
Bro you just lost how much money on last weeks game? And have been incorrect about a number of topics you had to eat crow on and walk back on all weekend. I'm not trying to defend Golson, but the irony/hypocrisy is overwhelming. What do you think of Riley Leonard? where's that strong arm you were raving about, and how dynamic he was going to make the offense. 😂
Agreed 101%Agree with your logic on why Angeli should be UP FIRST.
Besides, when has he played poorly? He HASN'T.
He's ALWAYS ANSWERED THE BELL.
He can PLAY THE POSITION.
He played horribly. But he has a strong arm. He threw a ridiculously awful pass. What do you think of Riley Leonard? where's that strong arm you were raving about, and how dynamic he was going to make the offense. 😂

It happens after we lose a commit and when we have a loss. And when we have a really embarrassing pathetic loss it's just unreadable and annoying so I usually stay away for days to a week til all the crazies stop posting and going whacko
Agree with your logic on why Angeli should be UP FIRST.You can't go with Carr.....
The only option is Angeli.
If we went with Carr the entire QB room will leave and they should.
This theme of rent-a-QB was stupid from the get go and I screamed this from the top rope.
Now here we are three years later...
Coan, Hartman and Riley later...
And what do we have to show for it....
An underperforming QB position...AGAIN.
For three straight years we have tried taking the easy way out with the QB spot and what we got is simply other teams table scraps.
Joe Burrow isn't coming here via the star trek portal thing...
We have to EARN that QB by recruiting him.
If we go with Carr the QB room next year will have Carr, plus two freshmen, one being a three star and the other a two star and probably a walk on emergency QB.
Let Angeli play this year out,
and Dodgers have zero championships to show for it. 😂 flawed logic. And that's why they play the games dummyI dont really follow the NBA or NHL but taking the first two examples (Bulldogs & Dodgers), look at how many games those teams have won over the last several seasons in relation to all other teams.
Even if both teams (Dawgs, Dodgers) didn't seal the deal last season by winning a championship, they've positioned themselves better than all other organizations to win a championship. Things like small sample size, variance (luck), still play a big role in the outcome of a single series or a single game.

Do you see how flawed your logic is. The that looks best on paper doesn't always win, in fact most times they don't
Haven't been absent. I just knew this board was going to be a shit show for a long time. And people were going to be going nuts and off the deep end.I don’t care what he admits to. That’s his business.
That said, for a poster who is around here 24-7-365, his absence is odd.
Or maybe it isn’t.
That's what I'm saying, if you're going to make a switch, which I think we could be close to. And you don't have to commit to Angeli for the long term future. A coach never has to do that. Angeli could finish the season, start out next season, and then get replaced at some point by Minchey or Carr because they simply have more talent and are ready to take over. And that's what you have to juggle as a head coach. That is the job, those kind of consequential executive decisions. You can't go with Carr.....

Let Angeli play this year out,
And that one more chance DOESN'T HAVE TO LAST THE WHOLE GAME if ND is down, say, two TD's, and the O has stalled out.I say he gets one more chance. I don't give a shit if it's hard to play or not without the full, unconditional support of all the coaches hanging on your every snap, especially if you're getting paid a million bucks. The season's basically already over on account of him, the playoffs at least, and ND needs to be moving on to bigger and better things if the mediocrity continues.
If we went by your rules, Georgia would have been national champions last year, the Dodgers would have won the world series, the Denver Nuggets would have been NBA champions, and the NY Rangers would have been NHL champions.Of course wins and losses is all that matter, but increasing your program's talent base (team talent composite), and increasing the production on the field (F+) correlates to more future wins, more than wins themselves do.
You can't go with Carr.....And quite naturally, if not RL, then we'll go with the true frosh. The one QB least likely to transfer, or to bring immediate success. And who has done nothing at all to signal that he is so great, and such an absolute sure thing elite talent, that you should go from first to worst if you make the weighty decision to bench your flashy NIL transfer QB after three games.
I mean what else would you do.....
Yea, and Montana's kids came to ND, and neither started and transferred out.I'm sure there were other factors in his transfer decision, too - like playing for a better team. Also, apparently his great-grandfather played at ND under Frank Leahy. So maybe he was an ND fan growing up, too.
