Not enough time in live game action where throwing it away becomes second nature.Angeli takes too many sacks imo.
The future?Notre Dame Nation:
Watching the game today versus Perdue gave me hope for the future. Some of the players of note are:
Kennedy Urlacher
Bryce Young
KVA
Cooper Flanagan
Boubacar Traore & KK Smith
I like this kid Max Hurleman. He reminds me of Chris Fink or Scot Sollmann (coached by Lou Holtz). It was great to see Kevin Bauman, after all of the injury adversity that he has gone through. He scored a touchdown. I for one am happy for the kid.
Thoughts????
Go Irish!!!
Compared to Riley's throwing our backup looks like Peyton Manning.He ran the ball good at Duke too. I said he wasn't a good passer in my post and we should play both. People are acting like our backup is the Manning kid.
I can tell you the problem. It's three pronged.It's clear to everyone on the planet including the staff, except a few of the mentally challenged that Angeli is the guy.
That said, Angeli is the lone holdover from the Kelly era in that QB room. the last QB, Kelly/Rees recruited, and it almost feels as though MF wants nothing to do with that at the most important position on the offense for whatever reason. They have brought in 2 average to below average QB's the last 2 seasons in an attempt to upgrade the QB position instead of going with and developing what they have, and it's backfired. It's backfired because we've heard nothing but how talented this team is and they are a playoff team.
It's just strange to me that you stick with a QB that can't make throws and is struggling when you have someone sitting on the bench that can, and has proven it time and time again. It's bizarre.
Stop right there.Horrible QBs don't rush for 100 yards and 3 TDs in a half. He is a weapon running the ball. But not good throwing the ball clearly. So as I've said before, we should play both QBs. Then teams would have to gameplan for both QBs.
Wow! Thanks for sharing. These are awesome.
He was out there throwing blocks. 😂I partially disagree. Angelli can throw a nice ball, but he has a very slight stature. I don't think he would hold up to a. real pounding. I think he is slow. Yes, he can run in the open, but if he was in the open at the 50 yard line he would never make it to the end zone without being taken down from behind. I just don't think he is a very strong kid. I liked better the two guys that came in after him. They looked very athletic. That's it. Angellli is not very athletic. Just my take.

Love hearing that. Give him 1-2 years in the S&C program.....he could be an impact Safety.
As a Chicagoan, I've seen hundreds of games that his Dad played in. Brian Urlacher was a force. Just an incredible athlete. Hoping Kennedy is "that". Early returns look good.

Leonard can’t throw the ball as well as Angelli and he is also able to run. I think Notre Dame is afraid he’s going to be so successful that carr transfers. it’s just bad coaching. I don’t care what you promised a transfer if you’re not delivering and I’m not saying he didn’t deliver today but he’s not the future of this program then he hast to sit on the bench.
Thanks.He played really well in the run game. Comes up fast and loves to hit. He had 1 really bad play in coverage where he ran into Mickey and they had a big play. The reason we gave up the 7 points.
Good player. Brings energy

Hey.....tell me about that ceiling fan. I'd like to pick one up for my daughters room!Ahhh, a good old pissing contest about how great a Notre Dame fan you are and what a vast storehouse of Irish informtation you posses...allow me to toss my credibility cap into the ring...
(It's times like these that I miss Oldbender's input...for those of you around awhile, you remember him...perhaps the most knowledgably and informative poster on here...right up there with the dear, departed Mr. Somogyi)
Anyway...are you a credible Notre Dame source on which to judge how big a spanking yesterday was? Future has seen 150 games all over the damn country (I assume none in Ireland?), whereas:
1) I obtained my graduate education at Notre Dame;
2) I have seen over 175 games around the country (with the tick stubs to prove it - see #8 below);
3) I obtained tickets for my parents to see the 1996 game in Dublin (had to work couldn't make it);
4) A distant (3rd or 4th cousin) from the Pennsylvania side of the family emigration from Ireland taught at Notre Dame for two years during WWII;
5) During my time at ND, I played catch for 30 minutes with Tom Clements on his way out of the Law School, during which time we discussed his career with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and his destruction thereof in the 1984 Grey Cup;
6) Bought Terry Andrysiak beers at a bar in Hamilton, Ontario while he was QB for the Tiger-Cats;
7) Had Lou Holts inquire as to my availability to walk-on while I was kicking and punting a few balls around the intramural fields one Sunday morning...he was crushed when I informed him I could not because I was a grad student and had no more eligibility;
8) I have 1135 catalogued pieces of Notre Dame memorabilia including programs, ticket stubs (see #2 above), jerseys, pennants, mini-footballs, min-helmets...
So, I think I am qualified to say this was one mo-fo ass-kicking, comparable to the 1996 Rutgers massacre at Notre Dame stadium (62-0), during which, by-the-way, I was installing a Notre Dame-themed ceiling fan in my parents' basement...
One must think like a child to address a child...
