I still see there's a robust obsession with who 'deserves' to get into a playoff. And it must needs be decided by men in suits, and not ball players in uniforms. Play your seasons out and then we'll pour ourselves some scotch, good scotch, and light up some stogies from Cuba, only the finest cuban cigars for these honorable deliberations.... and we'll pass judgment on who deserves to get in to the expanded playoff. And I can tell you right now no three loss team belongs. Because three losses is three more than zero losses, and going undefeated is really the only criteria that matters. Then you deserve it. And for the tiebreakers among the various 2 loss teams we'll just come up with some expedient reasoning pulled out of our asses, and that serves our preferences tidily enough and then call it a night!

SEC with one team in the playoffs

If it plays out, LSU would be a 9-3 team with a loss in the championship. I can’t see them putting someone over LSU. Could be a crazy finish.
Do you mean 10-3 LSU and you *can* see them putting in someone over LSU? I can see that and hope it’s the case. They would have two losses against a playoff team and USC with a likely 5+ losses. I don’t think a conference championship loser should automatically be given a pass and allowed into the playoff. It should depend on their body of work.

Also, Georgia doesn’t play A&M. Even if Georgia loses another game, I can’t see them dropping from #2 or #3 to all the way to out. Let’s hope they lose two to three more games and get knocked out. Hard to see three losses but they have the best odds of getting in at 9-3.

Edit: 10-3 LSU probably would deserve to be in if they had two losses to 12-1 A&M.

ND @ Miami to open 2025 seaon

Stanford plays at Hawaii in 2025 so they meet the bylaw and they only have 11 games scheduled. Not sure if the ACC would let ND play them. It would probably have already been scheduled if that were the case.
I've heard that, but why would ACC deny a ND-Stanford series? ACC only stands to benefit and ND advocated for Stanford and Cal to join the ACC.
