I hope soI thought Vernon might address the dt void. Perhaps two years from now we’ll be singing Dixon’s praises.
it certainly might be now...Big east bball better than acc
I thought Vernon might address the dt void. Perhaps two years from now we’ll be singing Dixon’s praises. No not at all. There's players I wouldn't even have allowed to commit in this class if I was coach. So dumb comment
Now back to actual substance
There is only 1 position on the roster that MF will not have signed a player I would consider elite and that is DT
Carr
Love
Williams
Flanigan
Lambert
Young
KVA
Gray
Blair
Some positions have multiple but I got every position except for DT
I think it's possibly a tough call, depending on who's available. And I guess how good the incumbents appear to to progressing. Of course that's my speculation. But I suppose, it's time to let the guys already on the roster have a turn. One of Carr, Minchey or Angeli should be ready to take over in '25. We don't need another transfer IMO. I guess Freeman didn't think those guys were ready yet this year, but they should be next year.

You don’t believe that because you consider all Notre Dame players elite.
Their QB is good, but has thrown only 103 passes in nine games. The other wr is a burner, and typically has five plus yards separation on his defender, making him an easy target and a TD machine. I still think Meadows is elite and hope like hell he flips. Can’t disagree that he might not make significant contributions until his sophomore year, but as you say, elite upside.Meadows I thought was going to really put it together with all his talent but he's still a project player as well. Elite upside but not much production at all. Is it the system, is it the QB or is it him? I'm not sure but if we get Meadows I wouldn't count on him next year at least
Marcus Freeman indeed has problems signing elite players at certain positions. He hasn't had too much problems with that since he's been here
Big east bball better than accI wish I could share that optimism but unfortunately until it happens I will continue to blame the ACC move.
Remember the success we had early in the ACC were with Big East recruited players.
Basketball is very much a me first sport. Why come here and have to constantly play the toughest basketball conference 2/3rds of the schedule.
@ ND... the sports go..
Football...
Hockey/WBB
MBB/lacrosse
Baseball
My point is WBB, MBB all would've been fine in another conference. It hasn't hurt UCONN and in hindsight that's exactly where our basketball teams should be. Back in the Big East.
Hockey competes in the Big10
That’s a big poopyOuch!
Ouch!
I also feel Jack Larsen could be a border WR instead of TE. If worse comes to worse. Portal might have some steals too. It's a sad statement that ND had 30-40 looks at wrs and not a bite except Burris, Bettis and now Richardson. Something needs to shape up in that wr area. We’re pretty late to the dance with these last minute efforts. The fact is we struck out on our top three targets, and we’ve been struggling since to make this up. Richardson may in fact be a project, but I love his potential and considered his commitment As a huge plus. Burress is having a really good season and I think we have a very good get with him. This latest offer will likely result in a commitment. Parnham is tall, runs a very good 40, and appears pretty athletic. But, his ranking is very weak as is his offer list. We can’t keep looking for diamonds in the rough to fill needs. Hope we pull off a flip with Meadows; and as you say, Golden might be our most talented receiver in this class, even though recruited as a DB.
Yep. May have to get e in march#5 - Quality depth was one of our biggest strengths coming into this season. With this being the 2nd season in row with more injuries than typical, I wonder if there's some problem in the training approach that needs to be worked out.
It would be easier if we had a soft start and could count on most players to work back into the rotation before the toughest part of the schedule comes. But we have three top 5 opponents before Christmas. Yikes!
