If Tenn played in the SEC…

100% Oregon and Ohio State got shafted. I get an automatic qualifying setup. But it was dead wrong to place teams without some consideration for ranking and conference distribution.

FIFA does this right for soccer World Cup seedings and distribution. Ok, ranking itself is never perfect. Europe for example is much better than Asia and upper Americas. But you have to have some inclusivity. More European teams rightfully get in on...but once in, teams are pretty balanced, except 1 group of death...where you might get 2 strong and 2 good teams.

But no way should Oregon and Ohio State be in a path of death in this kind of setup. At least not until semis. The CFP committee will learn. They will get better at this.
This is the last thread bear of the parity that used to exist from the AP poll. It is not believable that a team like Boise State can win three games against top talented competition. But it's slightly believable that they could catch a lesser opponent in the first round and only have to win two games against top talented competition.

No it is not a sports outrage that Ohio State and Oregon meet in the Rose bowl, Ohio State should be thankful that this system allows them a mulligan or two.

Notre Dame Win versus Indiana (Top four pivotal plays) !!!!!

Notre Dame Nation:

I re-watched the Indiana vs. Notre Dame college football playoff game and was curious what you think was the top four pivotal plays of the game. Mine are as follows:

1. Xavier Watts - Interception
2. Jeremiyah Love - 98-yard touchdown run
3. The fake field goal attempt - Freeman punked Cignetti into calling a timeout (the smile that said - I got you) was priceless. "Cignetti eats crow for all of that smack talk!"
4. The recovery by Jordan Faison, when Mitchell Evans fumbled

Honorable Mention: Jordan Faison's 44-yard reception.

Go Irish!!!
Freeman didn’t punk Cignetti. ND snapped the football and ran the fake field goal play.

Some clarity please

Does anyone have anything on the following players?

Cam Williams - has he dissapointed or what? Heard something about being undersized but I do not see that. Faison is undersized and is awesome

Gilbert - looked great in bng game ??

Onye - what’s his deal and like get your — together

Vernon - much heralded. wtf?

I do not ever recall another year that has the amount of injuries as this year
Williams - Very raw. Will be a player next year. Not undersized

Onye - personal issue. Not with team. Might not play again for ND.

Vernon - playing out of position imo

Gilbert - next year. Others ahead of him

If Tenn played in the SEC…

No way should a 2 loss Ohio State or 0 loss Oregon get a harder path than Penn State, Indiana, Boise, Arizona State, even Georgia.

Ohio State barely lost to Oregon on the road in a different time zone. Fine, they lost to MI, but it's one of the more intense rivalry games...and MI is a decent team.

Georgia lost to Alabama and Ole Miss. Barely survived GT, again, rivalry game.

Don't get me wrong. You have a good point about the MI loss. But in aggregate, this is optimal...that perhaps the best 2 teams in the country have to play each other 2nd game. While Boise gets a 2nd round game vs Penn State, who lost to Ohio State and Oregon?

I am for the playoffs. They will improve it. It needs to.
No way should players be paid to play football by the university, and not required to get an education, or even just show up to a class.

So in today's college football (if you can all it that) yes when the top of the conference team gets embarrassed by the underachieving arch rival at home no less ,yes they get the number 8 bracket and if they win they play the number 1
bracket.

I get your point and it would be valid if there was some sanity in any of this.

Personally I wish ND was playing Oregon because I think MF has a chip on his shoulder and is eating it to bits to beat the best, and if the Irish beat GA and I think there's a great chance they will but, there will be the excuse thrown around their starting qb is out.

Rylie Mills

Come on now, did you watch the game? Mills' injury had zero to do with the S&C coach. It was just a freak injury. RM's knee hit Snead as RM was spinning around in the process of sacking Rourke. Bad luck. Pure and simple. I don't know what RM's MRI revealed, but it sure looked like he hyperextended the knee. If the injury is a season-ender, I suppose he probably must have torn something. It sucks, but to try and pin the blame for Mills' injury on Landow is simply not a rational take.
This is true. Mills injury had nothing to do with S and C coach.
