Does the “Prevent” defense

He may not have been angling for big plays, but that doesn’t mean they were playing prevent. It was mostly base calls except for maybe two plays.
Agree, although base calls for ND in passing situations almost always involves some form of blitzing. May not have been classic prevent, but I don’t think it accurate to suggest we only played a softer defense on one or two plays. I think Golden’s statement makes this pretty obvious.

Does the “Prevent” defense

Golden’s statement,
There’s things that we can learn from it,” Golden said. “Obviously we’ve got to finish better and I’ve got to make some calls there, but at that point, I just didn’t think continuing to show elaborate pressures in that situation was to our benefit, to be quite honest with you.”

Lane Kiffin continues his complaining

Disagree that Conf Champs automatically deserve to be in. Hell, we’re talking about selecting the top 12 teams to participate in a playoff, and conference champs will almost always be among this group. But if not, they don’t deserve to be there.
Which is why people like you are not on the committee. I guess as a ND fan that could be, if not forgiven then at least to be expected. But unsurprisingly you've taken that to an extreme, like many ND fans, and not only do you cherish ND's precious independence, you have cultivated through years of long practice, a contempt for the existence of conferences at all, even though if everybody was independent, and there was no conferences, it would lose all meaning and it wouldn't be special or unique.

So like the gracious ND fan that you are, you accept and embrace and indeed cherish ND's special and unique 'independence', and you just don't want conferences to get anything. And you want everything about the structure and ethos of CFB to favor ND, and cater to ND, and all the rest of CFB, 100% of all teams, can eat cake. And ND fans get to eat that same cake, they get to have it and eat it too. And everybody has to eat it. But that's what the mob seems to want, and the SEC definitely seems to want, so they can get like, six teams in every year, even though typically ND fans live to spite and despise the SEC and anything they might want. But you have to make an exception this time.

I assume UGA is the home team

I can't wait for this UNIFORM FETISH to reach the UGLY end of the spectrum: say, white helmets, gold jerseys, blue britches and Kelly green shoes.

Or would ND be penalized for BLINDING THE OTHER TEAM?

It's not the uniform on the player that counts, BUT THE PLAYER WEARING IT.

The medieval English Crown had a KEEPER OF THE WARDROBE. Do college football teams now have such a FUNCTIONARY? Sure seems like it.

I mean, who's in charge here -- DONATELLA VERSACE?

Golson, who was a tougher game for Notre Dame IU or SC?

Yeah, that wasn't the question though

NIU played ND better than both.

Game was at USC. 4th week in a row going from NY to Ind to Cali. No Cross

2 different games. Indiana is a better team than SC and by a decent margin
Cmon, that was the question….Answer the question, who played ND better, IU or SC???

Does the “Prevent” defense

No. Maybe one or two plays was a “softer” defense. That’s it.

That’s not realistic, and you know that. Conference champs deserve to be in.

If USC came into ND stadium with us on 3 weeks of rest in that environment in that weather we would have curb stomped them by at least 28

There is evidence to determine who was better. It's called a football season

11 and 1 vs 6 and 6 in the same conference with 5 common opps where Indiana was much better against

You have no argument. You can't win. It's impossible
All true, but the question is which team, IU or USC, played ND better? I think the answer is USC.

If Tenn played in the SEC…

100% Oregon and Ohio State got shafted. I get an automatic qualifying setup. But it was dead wrong to place teams without some consideration for ranking and conference distribution.

FIFA does this right for soccer World Cup seedings and distribution. Ok, ranking itself is never perfect. Europe for example is much better than Asia and upper Americas. But you have to have some inclusivity. More European teams rightfully get in on...but once in, teams are pretty balanced, except 1 group of death...where you might get 2 strong and 2 good teams.

But no way should Oregon and Ohio State be in a path of death in this kind of setup. At least not until semis. The CFP committee will learn. They will get better at this.
Agreed, the whole seeding thing was just sort of weird from the start. Getting a first round bye was not, at least in principle, that was at least arguable. That there's some reward for winning your conference. But if that's the price you're going to pay, an absurdly premature matchup of the two best teams in the country in only the 2nd round, or you might even say the 2nd part of the 1st round, then you might need to reconsider it.

I don't know if FIFA is a good model to follow, don't they do like a lottery, and they just draw names out of a hat? Yeah, it's weighted, so you don't get Brazil, Germany, England and Italy in the same group. And you actually could get all those teams in the same group, depending on where they finished in their qualifying groups. If I understand correctly, maybe I don't. But it's pretty easy to seed 12 games in a tolerably competitive fashion. Super easy in fact. The tricky part is the first round bye, and if you think that should be reserved for conference champs. And maybe you could re-seed them after the first weekend is in the books.

Rylie Mills

Hearing....from who lol

The person who said we wearing black jerseys ?
I hope so lol.

Just hearing subtle rumors on different boards. No one is coming out and saying it though. If we can stop the run without mills I think we can win this game without him.

We gonna need some beef up front. Is cross and Rubio enough ? Mills didn’t play every snap early on against Indiana and we did fine vs their run game.
Hinish , Mukam ??? Idk.

I really and optimistic hoping that sevianno can get some reps , is he hurt also ? Have t seen him in the game since week 1 vs atm.
I heard playoff games don’t count toward redshirts. Thoughts. ??
