So your saying they didn't cheat? Because they did win a NC.cheating doesn't equal winning!
Agreed. Sark is managing the situation. Ewers probably is a better QB, or at least a more mature, advanced QB with the mental aspects and defense-reading. But this is it. They'll take their lumps next year if they have to with Arch. And he's the guy next season. It's pretty much set in stone. Hence all the Ewers portal buzz. Even ND's name got thrown around.I think so. If he does they will say they won it in spite of him. Manning is the shiny new toy and a name brand. Important to note that Ewers was a 5 star as well. I don't think Manning will stick around year 3 to be on the bench. But I think Ewers transfers or goes pro.. Manning has more upside, but clearly Sark trusts Ewers more for this year.
I'm not sure the prospect of Boise St., being in the playoff, the old playoff, when they were having one of their awesome seasons beating every team on their schedule by 40 points or more, and even beating UGA or Vtech OOC, has ever been mentioned without them immediately being pissed on as totally unworthy and having no business among the top four teams in the country. Because they're G5, they don't play anybody and they're not even in the conversation. I would call that disdain and contempt. No big deal, just fans being fans, but let's not pretend that anyone's heart is bleeding for the G5.
Really? Ever heard of Quinn Ewers? Why isn’t he starting at Texas??

Why isn’t he starting at Texas??I'd take Arch Manning in a heartbeat.
This is the one time I’ve had to sway from football talk, for obvious reasons.I'd recommend to follow your own advice, without the charade.
Okay. But you didn't answer the question. Who is regarding those schools w/ disdain and contempt? That's what I just said. This article made it seem like these G5 programs are under particular existential threat, on account of the advent of NIL and the portal, when they are not, and nothing has changed for them. And the fact that New Mexico's star QB has transferred to Utah, to take financial and career advantage of his rising fortunes, does not doom New Mexico football in any way such that they should feel entitled, in any way, to lament it or seek to prevent it. If Devon Dampier wants to transfer to Utah to get paid and play in the P4, then that's what he's going to do. And New Mexico's just going to have to live with it. And every G5 program is going to have to accept it.
And this article is merely trying to create sympathy where none previously existed. Not because fans give a shit about G5 programs, which they don't, but because they don't like NIL and the portal messing with their favorite P4 programs, the teams people actually care about.

I know, he was awesome. I wonder if he would have gotten the ND job if he hadn't left for Vandy. Probably not, but if he had, I think he could have been successful here too. And a really good fit. Hard to be much of a better fit than MF, but pretty close.I am happy for Clark Lea, a seemingly good man who deserves the best.
