What Freeman and this Team Has Done

He has done a great job. Risky hire but it paid off
I think one of the biggest reasons for Freeman being named HFC is that at the time it allowed him to retain majority of the staff and the recruiting class. Imagine how different the roster would be now if he and all the other coaches had left? Probably wouldn't be in the semi-final.

Notre Dame Nation: 37 years Since - So you say we have a Chance!!!

Notre Dame Nation:

What a game!!! This is a year that I will never forget - 13 wins so far. We can name so many players of the game, but this was indeed team glory at its' finest. I can't resist naming a few outstanding players - but have to credit the growth of Coach Freeman - Wow! My players are:

- The Notre Dame "Defense!"
- Riley Leonard
- Junior Tuihalamaka
- RJ Oben
- Xavier Watts
- Jayden Harrison
- Jordan Faison
- Bo Collins

Wow! Wow!! Wow!!

What are your thoughts?

Go Irish!!!!!!
As you say, tooooo many deserving credit. Thought it was Sneed’s best game in his career. Rubio stepped up big time. Could not have been happier for Hinish sack to close out the game, or Oben’s forced fumble. And who can forget Jeter’s rebirth as a reliable FG specialist.

So much for the MIGHTY sec

I won't pile on the SEC. Even if I also can't stand what they've done to college football. They got away with outlier domination because they paid the most under the table at scale...with other programs eventually entering the game.

As we discussed, NIL, transfers, and professionalization means most SEC teams can't pay like the northern bluebloods and well back aspirational schools like Oregon. They know it. Most of my SEC friends acknowledge this now, realizing only Florida, Georgia, and Texas have the pockets.

Changing of the guard. These things go in cycles. I expect the BIG to dominate for some time, with ND actually. I expect FSU to surge, they have $$$.

Don't get me wrong. It couldn't happen to nicer guys than the SEC fans. They reveled in false domination, paying no heed to the destruction of the student-athlete concept.

But, like I said, I don't rub it in. Success is the best revenge. I want ND being the once and future champion to be the best revenge...letting the SEC stew in their juices.

What Freeman and this Team Has Done

Their record vs top 25, their record vs top 10, their record vs SEC. Freeman and this team has given ND fans their pride and dignity back. After decades of having to eat sh!t CFB isnt laughing at us anymore. Job not finished and we all want more but not since the Holtz days have we enjoyed these types of victories.

For those who know the rules

If something is a penalty, you have to call it. The only times people say “let players play” is when a call goes against them.
No disagreement, but there are plenty of times much more egregious penalties go uncalled. That's why it frustrated me. But I will admit it's an exceedingly difficult job being a ref. You can't get them all.

Officially Official Sugar Bowl ND v. UGA Game Thread

I think we can beat PSU and Texas. OSU would be tough.

I agree...but the games have to be played.

If ND meets Ohio State in the final, the Buckeyes will be favored...but ND has a history of glory pulling off wins when underdog in big games.

This mighty be the year the echoes wake up...I'm dreaming it will be.

Can we talk about the effin refs?

The guys I'm with were all cursing about the illegal motion before the play was even over. They did miss the face mask but thought overall there were proper calls both ways. The hold on Greathouse was proper. The PI on Gray maybe a little ticky tacky but don't grab the jersey. Kiser was definitely interference. Caught a break with kid from Georgia interfering with the official. Don't like those kinds of calls because they have absolutely nothing to do with the play. It's a rule though. Too many pre snap penalties for ND, kind of like Texas yesterday. Great win. Next.
Yeah? Well, I guess it was nothing then. Still, it was a string of painful penalties all in a row, every one consequential, and harmful to ND's prospects and fortunes. All in the fourth quarter, with the game slipping away, as if the refs were doing everything they plausibly could to help a brother out. But it looks like ND just got a little too fancy with all their shifting and motioning.
