I'm thinking 9/7 will be a bye. It needs to be. That is not an easy 5 game stretch.
Do you mean 10-3 LSU and you *can* see them putting in someone over LSU? I can see that and hope it’s the case. They would have two losses against a playoff team and USC with a likely 5+ losses. I don’t think a conference championship loser should automatically be given a pass and allowed into the playoff. It should depend on their body of work.If it plays out, LSU would be a 9-3 team with a loss in the championship. I can’t see them putting someone over LSU. Could be a crazy finish.
2018 teams #10-#12 finished 9-3 with a G5 team finishing ahead of those three (so all three would have been in the playoffs). 2016 USC finished #9 with a 9-3 record. No 3 loss team deserves a spot.
I've heard that, but why would ACC deny a ND-Stanford series? ACC only stands to benefit and ND advocated for Stanford and Cal to join the ACC.Stanford plays at Hawaii in 2025 so they meet the bylaw and they only have 11 games scheduled. Not sure if the ACC would let ND play them. It would probably have already been scheduled if that were the case.
I don't think the ACC has any say in who Stanford schedules non conferenceStanford plays at Hawaii in 2025 so they meet the bylaw and they only have 11 games scheduled. Not sure if the ACC would let ND play them. It would probably have already been scheduled if that were the case.
You’re talking as if two losses will knock out these teams. I think 10-2 almost locks in an SEC team.
Georgia has a tough schedule with Clemson and GT out of conference. They’re a virtual lock at 10-2.
I also don’t think the committee would only put in one SEC team no matter how much it was deserved.

If Notre Dame went 9-3 against this schedule, they would deserve a playoff spot.
