Michigan didn’t think so.Ohio state is the most talented team in the country. When they are clicking, look out.
Usc played them better. That wasn't the argument. 2 diff circumstances. Who cares about that.Cmon, that was the question….Answer the question, who played ND better, IU or SC???
Agree, although base calls for ND in passing situations almost always involves some form of blitzing. May not have been classic prevent, but I don’t think it accurate to suggest we only played a softer defense on one or two plays. I think Golden’s statement makes this pretty obvious. He may not have been angling for big plays, but that doesn’t mean they were playing prevent. It was mostly base calls except for maybe two plays.
Totally agree, Golson! Just reporting what I heard. I hope Freeman sticks to what he said. No QB transfers this year.
He may not have been angling for big plays, but that doesn’t mean they were playing prevent. It was mostly base calls except for maybe two plays.Golden’s statement,
There’s things that we can learn from it,” Golden said. “Obviously we’ve got to finish better and I’ve got to make some calls there, but at that point, I just didn’t think continuing to show elaborate pressures in that situation was to our benefit, to be quite honest with you.”
Which is why people like you are not on the committee. I guess as a ND fan that could be, if not forgiven then at least to be expected. But unsurprisingly you've taken that to an extreme, like many ND fans, and not only do you cherish ND's precious independence, you have cultivated through years of long practice, a contempt for the existence of conferences at all, even though if everybody was independent, and there was no conferences, it would lose all meaning and it wouldn't be special or unique.Disagree that Conf Champs automatically deserve to be in. Hell, we’re talking about selecting the top 12 teams to participate in a playoff, and conference champs will almost always be among this group. But if not, they don’t deserve to be there.
I can't wait for this UNIFORM FETISH to reach the UGLY end of the spectrum: say, white helmets, gold jerseys, blue britches and Kelly green shoes.
Or would ND be penalized for BLINDING THE OTHER TEAM?
It's not the uniform on the player that counts, BUT THE PLAYER WEARING IT.
The medieval English Crown had a KEEPER OF THE WARDROBE. Do college football teams now have such a FUNCTIONARY? Sure seems like it.
I mean, who's in charge here -- DONATELLA VERSACE?
Cmon, that was the question….Answer the question, who played ND better, IU or SC???Yeah, that wasn't the question though
NIU played ND better than both.
Game was at USC. 4th week in a row going from NY to Ind to Cali. No Cross
2 different games. Indiana is a better team than SC and by a decent margin
Golden’s statement,No. Maybe one or two plays was a “softer” defense. That’s it.
Yeah, that wasn't the question thoughAll true, but the question is which team, IU or USC, played ND better? I think the answer is USC.
Disagree that Conf Champs automatically deserve to be in. Hell, we’re talking about selecting the top 12 teams to participate in a playoff, and conference champs will almost always be among this group. But if not, they don’t deserve to be there. That’s not realistic, and you know that. Conference champs deserve to be in.
All true, but the question is which team, IU or USC, played ND better? I think the answer is USC.If USC came into ND stadium with us on 3 weeks of rest in that environment in that weather we would have curb stomped them by at least 28
There is evidence to determine who was better. It's called a football season
11 and 1 vs 6 and 6 in the same conference with 5 common opps where Indiana was much better against
You have no argument. You can't win. It's impossible
Agreed, the whole seeding thing was just sort of weird from the start. Getting a first round bye was not, at least in principle, that was at least arguable. That there's some reward for winning your conference. But if that's the price you're going to pay, an absurdly premature matchup of the two best teams in the country in only the 2nd round, or you might even say the 2nd part of the 1st round, then you might need to reconsider it.100% Oregon and Ohio State got shafted. I get an automatic qualifying setup. But it was dead wrong to place teams without some consideration for ranking and conference distribution.
FIFA does this right for soccer World Cup seedings and distribution. Ok, ranking itself is never perfect. Europe for example is much better than Asia and upper Americas. But you have to have some inclusivity. More European teams rightfully get in on...but once in, teams are pretty balanced, except 1 group of death...where you might get 2 strong and 2 good teams.
But no way should Oregon and Ohio State be in a path of death in this kind of setup. At least not until semis. The CFP committee will learn. They will get better at this.
The best money can buy.Ohio state is the most talented team in the country. When they are clicking, look out.
I'm not sure about that.If OSU wins a NC, they'll be forgiving.
I hope so lol.Hearing....from who lol
The person who said we wearing black jerseys ?
I am hearing that also...bummer if true.Hearing he will be out vs Georgia.
Who will make up for him
Is sevillano ready to make an impact ?
Thoughts ?
