1. The Irish have more talent on both sides of the ball.
2. The Irish are at home and will play with a chip on their shoulders (Hardly anyone has given them much of a chance to win)
3. The Irish have got off to strong starts in both the Texas and Virginia game. 28 to 0.
And Georgia Tech may take a little bit to get used to the speed of the big time college game since they played two games against lower level cream puffs.
4. The Irish have relied on a excellent running game behind a powerful and experienced Oline.
The Irish have beaten LSU, Texas, and Virginia by relying on the run game more then ever.
This will help Kizer hit Fuller and the rest of the stud skill players down field. Will Fuller and Corey and Hunter and maybe even Alize Jones.
5. The defensive front seven has played excellent in both games--stopping the run and contrary to popular opinion they have got a pass rush going in both games. The QB threw some wounded ducks that should have been intercepted and that blitz where K. Russell sacked the QB making him fumble should have put the game away.
6. Which brings me to my next point--- the Offense and defense were reeling big time when Malik went down--The Irish were up two scores early and ready to go up two scores again late but the team faltered.
Beating a power 5 team is hard to do especially on the road---And the Irish did it despite all the adversity and injuries.
7. The weaknesses of this team were exposed against Virginia--mainly pass coverage and redzone TD scoring.
I am glad they got exposed during the Virginia game and not the Gtech game.
I am sure the Irish players are all ears when the coaching staff talked to them all week.
I believe GTECH will score a lot but the Irish score even more.
Go Irish !!
Beat Georgia Tech !!
