Based on barely beating Temple...TEMPLE!!!!!, Florida and Iowa will jump us. Lucky to be at 12. OK St. May jump us too. Maybe 13th. Again:

Look at their outstanding recruiting:

2014 #59
2013 #85
2012 #77
2011 #108
2012 #75

Look at their formidable schedule (Opponent's combined record 21-38)

Sep. 5 Penn State W 27-10 (7-2)
Sep. 12 at Cincinnati W 34-26 (5-3)
Sep. 19 at Massachusetts W 25-23 (1-7)
Oct. 2 at Charlotte W 37-3 (2-6)
Oct. 10 Tulane W 49-10 (2-6)
Oct. 17 UCF W 30-16 (0-9)
Oct. 22 at East Carolina W 24-14 (4-5)

just report this loser for spamming the board... obviously a notre dame hater who can't handle it

The ND team tonight does not look like a playoff team BUT.......all that matters is for ND to WIN OUT and then get lucky to make it. Playing in a top bowl is key.

Further...iowa does NOT play anybody good....ok state will need to win out too. alot of points in games today...no defense. lets see what happens.....

Ohio State was losing last year to Indiana in the 4th Quarter, at home, in late November. We just beat a top 25 team on the road in the biggest game in their program's history. Pretty sure the sun will still rise tomorrow.

Not sure I disagree...
I believe the following will be in front of ND

Ohio St.
Michigan st.
Iowa
TCU
Baylor
Clemson
LSU
BAMA
Florida
Stanford

I could see as the next 5

OK State
OU
ND
Florida St
Memphis

Then again I could see ND as 8 being the second 1 loss team.

I am posting everywhere you Kelly homers can see it so I don't have to hear what a great win and what a great coach this bum is.
Kelly just keeps on winning. ND will be in the playoffs, or in a major bowl game. Top 5 coach in the country.

Brian Kelly owns YOU

The CFP committee as shown they value quality wins, but don't penalize for close wins over "lesser" competition. Temple was, and may be again at the end of the season.

How pathetic must your life be to make up logins just to flame obscure internet boards? Get a life.

Fortunately, you don't vote. You know nothing about Temple's defensive abilities or the reason they were undefeated before ND.

We'll see if Temple really is a quality team when they play Memphis. If it's a tight one or a win for Temple, I will be convinced that tonight's win was decent. Personally though, I think Memphis will house them like we should have. I'm still trying to figure out how Temple almost won last night, they did not look like a real team to me, especially offensively.

this flamer guy needs to do more research on all the weekend's games before he or she comes onto our board and starts throwing out crap like this. flamer probably doesn't know that Oklahoma st gave up 50 plus pts to an unranked texas tech squad before winning and that 3rd ranked Clemson struggled all day with an unranked nc st squad that put up 41 pts and then he or she probably didn't take the time also to check out what happened to Stanford as they should've lost to an unranked Washington st squad that threw the game away with turnovers. my point is that a lot of ranked teams struggled Saturday against lesser teams and if flamer would've done his or her homework on that then they could've saved themselves the trouble of starting such a stupid thread

why "should" they have housed them ? based on what ? no credit to temple ? I'm thrilled at 7-1 given all the circumstances this year.

So let me get this straight. Yes Notre Dame barely beat "Temple"....but lets be more objective. Notre Dame beat a ranked team on the road.

Iowa beat an unranked team at home.

You can argue whether Iowa should have been in front or behind Notre Dame already but why would winning at home against a lesser ranked team... a team that is 2-6 be looked at more favorably than Notre Dame beating a 7-0 team on the road.

I also just looked at Temple's schedule and they have not played one single "ranked" team yet this year.

Nope it was in response to the post right above that suggested ND wasn't a quality win if ND was as bad as people are saying.

In what area should ND be envious of Temple? We have the advantage against them across the board. They have maybe 2 or 3 guys who would have a shot of cracking the starting lineup for us. A bunch of 4 and 5 stars should clobber a bunch of 1 and 2 star scrubs. Why doesn't the talent gap translate?

They didn't even have home field advantage as it was essentially a neutral site game based on the fans at the game.

Also, look at the box score. ND had about 175 more yards than Temple. Some horribly untimely errors left precious points on the field.

We can only speculate, but what do you think that Baylor, Alabama, or OSU would have done to Temple? I'm pretty sure they would have the backups playing by the 4th quarter.

In year 6 of the Kelly era, we should be dominating games like these. We should have an elite team by now. Temple has one of the least talented rosters in the country based on Rivals, and they aren't running some gimmick style to equalize that.

The committee also supposedly looks at injuries and ND is winning while missing 8 starters and technically playing their 3rd string qb. Hate all you want but if you would of told any ND fan that ND would lose Folson Zaire Bars and Smythe on O as well as Tranquil Hand Crawford and Sebastian on D the season would of been wrote off. All these "ND Fans" talking shit about the way ND has played is absurd

Glad to see you are enjoying the season.

I have been overall., just disappointed with some of the outcomes. I don't see why it's so hard to believe that some fans want to see us as the best of the best. Isn't that the whole point of playing or has ND lowered their standards? It used to be championship or bust.

Temple is a good football team.

When they talking about the committee looking at injuries the analysis doesn't work that way. It is more like Seth Russell's injury will probably cause a down grade in the committee's view of Baylor unless they can prove that their offense wont show a huge dropoff with Stidham at the helm.

no way our irish drop out of the top ten after beating a top 20 undefeated team on the road in a close game. if our irish drop in the rankings then so should Stanford with the way they were handed a victory to them because of wsu turnovers and a missed game winning field goal by wsu

Temple is a good football team.
Good relative to their conference. But their conference is weak overall with some exceptions. We should have been in different league and showed them they aren't ready for big boy football.

Their talent level is extremely poor. They had no business playing with us for 4 quarters.

Just think about this : we are barely better than Temple on a neutral field in year 6 of the Kelly era. Sorry for lacking enthusiasm.

there is no great team this year deadmanramsey so I don't get you're point. Stanford almost lost to a so so wsu team last night that hasn't been to a bowl game in over ten years and ohio st almost lost to northern Illinois team this season also and ole miss lost to Memphis who is also from the same conference as temple. don't know why so many posters this morning can't just be happy that our irish are 7-1

Not poor talent. Well coached and they played well.

who said they should be envious ? if you want to go by recruiting rankings then don't play the games. just announce the national champion every year on the first wednsday in February. they aren't robots. they are humans who make errors, play above their abilities at times and thrive on the moment. the temple kids played great, disciplined football and made some big plays when they had to. and yes it was a home field advantage. do some research. temple has played there before. do you truly expect nd players and coaches to be perfect every week ?

really ? have you watched ohio st ? their backups hadn't seen the field until last week.
