D ended up playing pretty well. SC scored a majority of their points off defense and special teams, and couldn’t really move the ball in the second half. As long as they keep improving they could be a solid defense next season. Not as much upside as the offense though.
Defense completely turned around their performance in the 2nd half
Their oline was trash…. I’m worried about dl and lbs… doesn’t matter how good secondary is if your dline and lbs aren’t good

Theyll be fine. Lot of good players. Just need to play the best ones.

LBs and secondary should be really good. DE is loaded but no Foskey types (he is all the time ND sack leader) but Mills, Nana, Bothelo, JA and looks like JR T should be solid. Bothelo has pass rush ability. Up the middle is concerning, would move Mills inside and hopefully Ford is ready to get some PT.
Looks like NDs gotta go with what they got, time for somebody to shine. Cross/Rubio to start with the following stepping up or over: Mills/Onye/Ford/Keanaaina

We gave up 24 points…. On D to a team playing fourth string TE and having to our DEs at wr … and the DEs got frichan open
D played much better second half no doubt but we played a terrible team
The Irish D only gave up 10 pts in the 1st half. Botello played disciplined. How great would it be to see him really develop this off season? We’re gonna need it. Sneed and Collie too.

If they had kicked fg it would have been 13 points. D let them down the field and D specifically Lewis gave up an easy td… everyone including coaches new it was a pass coming but Lewis
D gve up 13. Those 4 were on the special teams. D got the stop. Not putting those extra 4 on the D

D was terrible in the first. They were moving the ball at will.
Complete turn around in 2nd half
Meh… they schemed the Tight End well on top of the ND struggling during the normal beginning of the game settling in period. Rattler was more confident in the 1st half too and a lot more so than after getting punched around some. I loved how well ND played the run and quick outside hitters. They stood up well. Give ‘em some credit. They’ll be a solid group come game 4.
Sneed showed he has a long way to go last night. He played out of control most of the evening. It makes sense why he's not playing more.

Agree other than they didn’t fake anything… they went for it in fourth down just with ST personnel… their kicker was in shotgun like a qb, there was no fg holder and long snapper was split out wide and caught td… they didn’t fake anything, just used different personnel to confuse nd… and Lewis got confused
We weren’t in fg block or fg safe, we were in a defensive coverage … freeman said it himself but he doesn’t want his D to look as bad as it did first half
Agree other than there’s no experience in practice than can duplicate games… coaches could have done better getting more game reps for younger players needed in 2023
No there’s 22 starters in O and D… he was without top rb tes wrs and I think one olinemen
For comparison, on O we err only missing our top TE
Read 1 for 7 third down in second and 10 or 15 yards rushing. Finally, half time adjustments and we started lots of our youngsters. Future looks bright
You give them reps during the year so they're ready sooner. Hard to improve when you don't play.
Sneed and kollie start next year because they are dudes and it's easy to see.
