Well folks, what are your thoughts on this weeks game?.....

Ok let's put this into perspective. App st may be good. But let's get serious, Georgia should never ever lose to them. I know , Michigan did. But come on, that's one every hundred years. Now ND should never ever lose to Temple. Never!!!! I live in philly. I know about Temple. Yeah they had a good couple years. Good for them, good for the city, good for the students. Still , it's friggin Temple. ND beat them bad like they were suppose to. As far as Georgia/ND, I have no idea who has the edge. Usually in a game line this it comes down to who makes the least amount of mistakes. I do think if ND protects the ball they have a good chance to win. That's the key as far as I'm concerned. No way they rush for 400 yards. I will say if they can run for 200 and make Georgia one dimensional, the Irish should win. However, that's easier said than done. I know the Dawgs will be fired up, focused and ready to play. Should be a great game. I think it's great for college football. Go Irish!!!!
The Bulldogs losing their QB has already made them one dimensional.

Very interested to see UGA's D-Line vs ND's O-Line. D-Line is the strength of our defense. Anthony "Booger" McFarland (I cant believe he allows himself to be called that, but who is going to say anything to him?), said UGA's defense was second only to Alabama's in the SEC, and not by much. The versatility of your QB will be a challenge, but I am not TOO worried about the run game unless the QB can create a solid passing attack, holding our very fast LBs on play action. As far as UGA's offense ....no clue. Chubb and Michel are, imho, the best RB tandem in the country, but, as we saw last year, cant do much if there are 8 men in the box. Can the freshman QB create space with the passing game? No idea. I will say this, I am glad Fromm has a week to practice with the first team. Kirby Smart has coached on the biggest stages and will have the freshman's head right.

I kind of agree with you MidTenDawg. Fromm can make those throws with ease thus pressuring our secondary to play tight. Elko showed on Sunday some nice adjustments at the half to limit Temple but I think our interior bodies are going to have a tough time in this matchup (I truly hope I'm wrong even though I married a doctor that spent 8 years at UGA). If ND can jump on them early, say 14-17 pt lead, creating a situation where Fromm needs to throw without the threat of play action will be a best case scenario for ND. Just nervous that without those interior bodies to stop the run it's going to be a big challenge.

This week is all about Brandon Wimbush. If he has a good game, we win . He doesn't need a great game, just a good game from him. The talent around him will make it great.

I think he's a good one, and I think his team is gonna step up this week and he wins big time.

I think the D will play well. I think they'll make sure their new QB gets his win.

As for UGA? Not relevant. This ND team is going to be really good.

That was true. I also believe ND's DC seen that as well and will be working on correcting that.

App. St. was running a 3-4 scheme with woefully undersized personnel on the line - starting a 275 lb NT, with DE's that were 240 & 260 lbs . They also started a 200lb OLB.

So the first correction is to get a full sized defense on the field. I think Elko has that covered.

Has the back up QB taken any snaps when. It counted?
Serious question
I tried looking it up . Not much luck

Only college tape you'll find is the App State game. True fresh early enrollee and he entered at 0-0 in the 1st qtr. Pulled him in the 4th with a lead & need to get his backup some reps.

Not a lot of film there he's got some players around him - ND will force him to make some plays. He is described as a kid that no moment has been to big for up until this point - I guess we'll really see now.......

As Gator Hater said, no film on the kid except for App State. I dont think you see the same player this week as he has praticed only with 2's and only knew 50% of the playbook. That will obviously change this week. I expect to see lots of pressure from the ND Defense, early and often. Chubb and Sony will have to have a great game, and the TEs will need to take the pressure off early. The longer the game goes, the better he will get...presumably...so if UGA doesnt get in a hole, I like the Dawgs chances. If the situation is that Fromm has to win it with lots of passing.....Not a good place for UGA to be. Dont sleep on UGA's defense...they are fast at LB and big on the line. One more note...that App State defense was small, but lightning fast. One UGA lineman already said he is ready to play against a "normal" D-line. Either way, ready for this game....Wont be there for it, but I will be in Sanford when yall make the trip down there in a couple of years. Best of luck and no injuries.

Trust me he knows more than 50% of the playbook and has definitely taken reps with the ones. Tuberville was oblivious all game long.

Thank you. I appreciate that

I think you may want to rethink that line. If you look at average recruiting rankings I would think UGA is probably a little ahead of Notre Dame. That doesn't mean UGA is better. It simply means that UGA has a slew of talent. That makes what they do very relevant.

It comes down to what it always comes down to with evenly matched teams:

Who makes the least mistakes
Special teams play
Who controls the LOS.
Who executes their game plan better.
Who makes the big play.

The biggest challenge/advantage UGA has on offense is the interior running game which Temple was able to exploit on a few plays so I'm definitely concerned with that. Add in the question marks we have in the secondary (specifically safety), the play action passes will be something we could be susceptible against. UGA's D looked solid across the board but I feel like they have some similar issues in the secondary so if we can find a good secondary option at WR than I think we can put up some points. Obviously don't know how much was held back from the scheme this week (for both teams as they had to have confidence they were more talented than their opponents) but as most coaches know, the biggest team gains during the year normally occur from week 1 to week 2.

Just a note on the rushing D against Temple. After the Temple TD drive in the 2nd Q, Elko made a few adjustments. Afterwards, over the final 2 1/2 Quarters Temple ran the ball (designed run plays) 16 times for 16 yards. If you count sacks & non-designed run plays Temple had negative rushing yards over the final 2 1/2 Quarters.
So great adjustments made by Elko in game.

I don't mean any disrespect to the team from GA. The ND is going to be one heck of a good team. One of the best we have seen in years. This offense is going to be crazy fast and fun to watch.

Is GA going to be a great team etc etc? I don't know. This ND is going to be special.

I agree that this ND team will be good this year, but you played one of the fastest D's in the country last night. Kirby has been recruiting like his hair is on fire and he is going for speed, trying to mimic his Alabama's defenses. We arent quite there yet, but that was a damn good D you faced last night. And as a note, that defense of yours is very good as well.

Great game everyone...see you in a couple of years down in Athens
